Default Start off necessities??

FINALLY, tom. night I will pick up my brand new T-Maxx 2.5.

I was wondering if there are any items I MUST have off the bat.

I know I will pick up some fuel, what is the best to break in with? 20 then go to 30, 10 break in go to 20 to run?

I have battery packs and a charger. I read I should get after run oil? Is this in the dvd, I mean where do I put the oil into?

I will be buying an on board temp, fail safe, and aluminum bumpers. I have tools, anything missing??

My hop ups and upgrades will come, I want to first enjoy breaking it in stock (its my first nitro) and go from there. I do have my sights on an FM radio, I think it is Futaba and around $289(forget the model).

I am sorry if these questions were asked already, I am just excited to get this thing.

Does anyone know if there is a Jeep Cherokee body for the tmaxx ?

Thanks in advance,

Mike L

Make sure to pick up a couple of extra glow plugs. Along with some extra fuel line (17 inches) for the exaust to fuel tank line. This helps the stalling problem many have experienced after break-in. It helped mine but did'nt cure it so I upgraded to the Sirio. No more stalling and tons more power. You will love your new Maxx. Just be sure to break it in at a secluded place so as not to be tepted to show off before its time to.

Good Post!

What is an onboard temp, fail safe??

Also remember to buy the air filter or cleaner lubricant. There is a very good article on this at Traxxas's home page.

onboard temp is something that is mounted on the truck and reads the temp of the truck so all you have to do is pull the truck up to ya and look at it instead of carring around a temp gun.

fail-safe is something that will detect a battery failure and shift everything into the idle postion. So if your truck batteries die it wont just keep going till it hits something and then some but just go into the idle postion and coast to a stop.

Correct me if im wrong!!

Default Your right but,

Most set it to put the breaks on! If you were going wide open and lost it it could coast right in to something!

My savage has a return spring on it. So if i ever lose it it just returns to idle.

Do the maxx's have this or is this just a savage feature

Default No,

The Maxx's don't come with one but, it is easy to put one on! All of my trucks have a spring and the fail safe!
