Default Dirt Demon~Video

I'll post better video later, i'm tired.

I'll plan on posting a list of thing that you should definatly check before running one of these demons.

The movie is 4mb, (.mov) format, sorry Windows Meida Player might not work. Only Quicktime plug-in, or player.

Dude, I checked out your vid and that DD rocks!! It handles much better than I thought it would and the turning radius is very good. How does it take jumps??

I have to agree. It seems a very stable and good truck. Try to show some jumps next time

However, I'm still concerned about those highly exposed shock towers... feels like it will bent a lot in hard roof landings...

ok, next video will have jumping. The problem is i'm running this thing on mickey moused parts. In my previous post there is a picture of my broken parts, but thanks to 2 part expoxy I won't have to wait 3-4 weeks for backordered shipment. So i just didn't want to push it.

Default 2nd gear?

Does that thing have a 2nd gear? By the sound and looks of those runs you dont have that engine tuned correctly. If it has a second gear then you need to lean it up so it will switch into the higher gear. It sounds like its running way to rich. If you leaned it up I bet that thing will kick some ass on the low end. Good truck though as i suspected.

Default Pretty good...

MUCH better than I thought... That HB .26 seems to really go.
Get that thing shifting, and it will really rip!
Can't you get Thunderquake parts anywhere in your area? I'm sure that they will work. Worst case, Tower will have them in stock and you'll have to wait a few days for shipping.

Well you dont really have to lean the engine to hit second gear. Just look in your manual on how to adjust the shift point. It may not take off doing wheelies off the start but running that good that rich... I would leave it alone. Your engine will last much longer running that rich

Here is the deal on the demon. I was very impressed at the begining, Powerful engine, heavy duty construction. Nothing broke except the one way bearing and sleeve had to be replaced. Hot bodies told me the 2 speed would begin to kick in after 15 tanks. No way , I took it down to my hobby shop and it seems the think is sent out stuck in second gear which causes premature wear on the clutch and shoes. they replaced the clutch with a new one and installed some ofna clutch shoes. Bravo, now that the bugs are worked out im very happy this thing It rips and the 2 speed does work and you can hear it shift. After tuning it properly it was poping wheelies and I am very happy. The hot bodies engine is very strong. The truckis a definite winner but bugs have to be worked out first.

All the trucks have their own issues so I think you came out really good. I am glad you are enjoying the DD!!!
