WHy? Whats the point? If you wanted a 4x4 maxx why not just buy the tmaxx, its gonna cost more money to stick a 2 speed tranny and 4wheel drive parts in a sportmaxx than just buying a tmaxx!! But if its a big deal, you can find the 4 wheel drive kits on ebay all day long, and you can buy the 2 speed gears seprate from any hobby shop that sells Traxxas parts.

Eventhough you got a good price, I think buying a Sportmaxx is the way to go. It is cheaper and the upgrades can be had cheaper as well. $309 + $80 in upgrades = $389 The T-maxx is $399. I admit you get more, but the first thing anyone does is remove the reverse.

Second alot of racers are sticking with the one speed transmission because most tracks aren't big enough to hit WOT.

Thirdly, you can pace yourself budget wise.

Default I love having reverse!

I have just about everything wrong with my body! Bad back ( 3 surgerys) bad ankles bad hips and bad sholders and I am only 35! So when ever my truck is far away and it needs to back up I don't have to gimp over to it and right my wrong!LOL Reverse rocks for gimps!
