Default brushless e-savage

ok i asked this in the elec area but got little responses.

i want to make a brushless savage i getting a stock e-savage sport and i do own a mamba max with a 5700kv cc motor. i have seen on youtube that people are putting single vxl systems in there e maxx's. can i get a lower kv motor say the 4600kv an put that in the savy? i know the best thing to do is get a MMM an lipo an all that stuff but i want to go cheap. (well nothing is cheap in this hobby). but say i just run a single battery on my mamba max an just modify the battery holder to hold 7cells would that work?

7 cells with a 4600 would probably be ok with low gearing. A larger and lower kv would be better for the heavy truck.
