RE: giving up on traxxas
you cant blame traxxas for your truck not working right when you take it apart and dont put it back together correctly. I have had great success with traxxas trucks. I have had 2 tmaxxes and 2 revos. All were great trucks. When things went wrong it was always my fault.
What other problems you have had with traxxas? sounds like you have had a ton of trouble with them if your starting a thread like this.

RE: giving up on traxxas
My t-maxx hasn't been too bad to me. I can't say it's been my most durable truck, but it works when I need it to. Last summer it took a swim in a ditch filled with water. I took out the glow plug, got all the water out of it, let it dry, and she fired right back up. For the most part I've been happy with traxxas products.

RE: giving up on traxxas
the tmaxx is the original nitro rc Monster truck. its been around for a long time. it has its faults. and out of the nitro trucks that traxxas makes i would put it at the bottom of my list. But as far as traxxas as a whole is concerned....they are a very good company with durable vehicles. I have had a few revos as well as tmaxxes and i really enjoyed them all.

I had a tmaxx for a while and it was the worst RC I have ever had and my Revo was a close 2nd worst. I have never had a traxxas product that impressed me. I don't care how good a company's customer service is if you have to keep calling them becase their products are crap. It kind of defeats the purpose of the hobby. the only 2 current traxxas car I haven't owed are the 4-tech and the jato. the 4-tech just looks cheap and I don't have any plans to own one, but I am willing to give a jato a try. I admit it looks like a nicely built truck and I have kind of wanted to get to see what all the hype is about.

RE: giving up on traxxas
Most of the time threads like this are pointless! How do we know how much you know about R/C actually when making a statement like this? I remember summer of 92 my friend and I both bought Brand New Kyosho Outlaw Rampages! Our first venture into Nitro after running electrics for around 6 years already!
Anyways, that was the worst R/C ever, it sucked, Kyosho sucked etc. etc. etc.
I put if away for about a year, but kept messing with some other Nitro's and learned and figured most of the stuff out on my own ( no internet back then ) but anyways, I got that Rampage back out about a year later when I knew more about Nitro, and magically, it was the best R/C ever! It rocked, Kyosho rocked, etc. etc. etc!
Get the point?

RE: giving up on traxxas
I'm not biased to any company but for Traxxas I have had good cars and then there was the "other ones" 3 T-maxxs and never any luck with any of them. Have been running R/Cs for 17yrs now and somthing about the T-Maxxs never seemed right. But thats not to say I hate them just not font of that truck!!!
I hear ya Joe. Maybe try a Revo, never really had problems with them but an engine prob which was an OS anyway.

RE: giving up on traxxas
I've been in this hobby for 20+ years and I'll agree with you on the T-Maxx and E-Maxx. I owned a T-Maxx years ago and it was a huge pain in the butt. I've also owned both versions of the E-maxx and both where full of problems even when run 100% stock.
Keep in mind that I'm a huge traxxas fan and have almost every electric they make but i've never cared for any of their Nitro stuff. My Nitro Hawk was a nightmare years ago and they just never got any better. With the exception of the E-maxx and Summit the traxxas electric lineup is pretty well put together. Avoid the nitros and those two electrics and you should be happy....
