You may not want to heat the plastic to 230 degrees!!

That will make it brittle and easier to break!!!

actually.. water boils at 212.. so theres no way its only 210

ITs cool if you have aluminum I guess but I dont think its very easy for us to do that!

Besides.. Steam will rust the screws.

Is that all you use?

in one of the other threads one of the guys said that he uses a high pressure water cleaner. i still think this will kill the car. please someone correct me if i am wrong. i have a high pressure water cleaner and if i can use this to clean my cars then i would clean all of them with it. is this possible in any way or will i do more harm then good?
thanks in advance, adrian

HE also sealed his Reciever with a baloon!!
Yes you will damage the electronics if you get water in it. Theres no question about that.

IF you can get around the electronics.. you still have metal screws that rust.. unless you replaced em with stainless steel.

I was thinking the same thing. When I think pressure washer, I think my 2350 psi gas powered big pressure washer. That thing would soak everything. I do use a hose after I spray it with extremerc cleaner, but I can direct a hose. There aint no way you could avoid the electronics with no pressure washer. Afterwards I just dry it off completely with my shop vac on blow.

water is fine if you take out the engine, all the electronic stuff, clean it, relube all exposed bearings, dry it off with a compressor anyway, and reassemble it. too much work for cleaning. id rather just use a compressor or borrow one if you dont have one available.

[threadresurrection] Do you still have to seal off electrical equipment and stuff when using alcohol, or do you just coat everything, then blast it away with air? [/threadresurrection]
