Go with the normal size temp. infra red meters !! I know the are more expensive but they normally also have backlight and lazer pointer for exact measuring. Mine has anyway. It's a Velleman.

i have a radio shack infared temp gauge, it cost 29.00 and its only about 1 degree off of the raytek, and most of the time its the same and its pocket sized with a belt clip
