New Truck

I have a rustler VXL but am looking for a new more realistic and power hungry r/c.
I would like a gas Truck but am willing for it to be electric.
I don't race but drive around in parks and feilds in the grass.
Water proof is a must! It snows here, rains here, gets blazing hot,
yeah its gotta be able to take the elaments.
I would like it to be a truck.
Any suggestions?

I've only had this rustler for about a yearand
am new to the idea of swapping engines.
Yes I have seen all the Tekin systems but I
read that they don't hold against waterhttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...used_smile.gif.

RE: New Truck

the savage x may be right up your alley. it comes with waterproof electronics, and good user friendly engine with plenty of power, great parts support at most hobby stores, and most of all savage durability! also the newest savage x has stonger sintered bulletproof diffs, bigbore shocks and comes with a bunch of acsessories to get u up and running fast. just take ur time and get the feeling for the truck, they are one of the toughest rc monster trucks but if you severly abuse it you will break it. that being said fixing is half the fun. -cheers and good luck....give the savage a look.

yes plus the x has a much, much better engine. Imo it also looks way better than the xl but thats just my opinion.

RE: New Truck

I thought the xl had the better engine, I need one
thats easy to tune and is fuel effiecient.

RE: New Truck

Also, Which Savage x?
The 4.6 or the ss?

RE: New Truck

How can you tell if something
has a better engine?

RE: New Truck

stay away from the ss and the xl as far as the engine is concerned, also the ss has weak drive cups. the rtr savage x is by far the way to go. the xl has even more upgrades but the engine has some issues. the f 4.6 in the rtr will spank both the xl5.9 and the k4.6 in the ss. but all this being said the xl already comes with the bulletproof (machined not sintered) differentials, hd axles, 3 spd. My biggest gripe with the xl is...well...the look of it. i find the x chassis has a nice rounded out look to it. nice and beefy, where as the xl looks streched. doesnt matter which body you put on it they all look retarded. (except for someones flux xl with bigjoes and a black f650 body on it, on this site, its sweet looking) most of this is just my opinion but as far as the engines go if you want the best mill get the rtr savage x.

RE: New Truck

oh and the xl 5.9 is a hot running engine, and a fuel pig!! people say they have ten gallons on their 5.9 its no testament as they burn fuel like no tomorrow!
