Best 1/8-1/5 Bashing Truck

I was wondering people's favorite RCtruck for bashing. I am in the market for a new RCTruck and was looking for a fast, sturdy and reliable truck. I have a Earthquake 8E and want to race my cars with my buds. Any Ideas?

depends what your buds have, If you all have the same, then different set ups help. Did you sell off the emaxx.

my favourite is the savage line of trucks. The toughest trucks are the thunder tiger mt4 g3. maybe not the toughest but damn tough.

yep it's going to cost a pretty penny to upgrade, That's why i suggested a big brushed. But too slow for you. The hpi is nice.

Nitro, Losi XXL. Electric, TT MT4 G3(this I say off of research only at this point.. It's what I would get for an electric. Read up on some reviews.. Basher of the Year '11 etc..)

being a savage and having a $1000 price tag, I'm sure it will be one of the best trucks around, if not the best. Unless another manufacturer steps up to take on the challenge. The thing looks huge next to the normal savage XL.

Thunder Tiger MT4 G3 is the best overall bashing platform on the market at the moment by a country mile (its also cheaper than a Savage). As long as you don't mind electric.

Wonder if the Savage is going to be waterproof...it should be.

Just because a Savage is $1000. Does not guarantee that it will be "fast"......

I own both and drive both ....Savage or a Revo for under 1000$ your really screaming.
Personally I think traxxas are designed better and easier to work on.
And if i remember right Traxxas have the fastest out of the box RC car on the planet, and it even has steel belted tyres ! When is anyother company really gunna step up to that plate !

The XO-1 looks cool and all, but at the moment Iown a Rusty, a Slash, and an MT4 G3. The MT4 makes the 1/10 Traxxas stuff feel like cheap toys that are engineered to fail. A big part of that is probably 1/10 vs. 1/8, but the 1/8th stuff is so much more beefy and easier to work on that I'm retiring the slash.

What post did i say it would be fast ?.
Of course it's going to be fast, nobody will sell something at that price that reaches 20mph in 20 metres. Trucks aren't about top speed, they're about acceleration and torque.

I have the savage X SS (4.9) kit and it's taken some mighty big beatings so far with no damage what-so-ever. Only issue I have is one of the wheels coming off now and then, but plan on fixing that shortly. It's fast, can land 9 foot high jumps like a pro, and if you're careful, rarely flips over, so it seems to have a great center of gravity. Only downside is, I've got close to $800.00 sunk in this truck so far, and the pull start is not as simple as it is on other trucks, especially when it comes to the first time you start it. I had a hell of a time getting it to run the first time, spent about an hour or so trying every trick in the book and ended up with a blister between my fingers from yanking it so much lol :D But after that, she runs like a pro.

I recently got a redcat earthquake 3.5, and ended up stripping the main spur gear after only 3 tanks of fuel, and running at, or less than 1/2 throttle. Not pleased.

Savage for under 1000$ your truly shouting. It's set to cost a pretty penny to upgrade.........

tizdaz 12-19-2013 12:07 PM

The savage octane is over priced imo, especially as losi have just released a 1/5 desert truck with a 23cc motor for less, I know which id choose! ;-)
