The Sirio .27 has been very compeditive on the market with the claimed horsepower but now its being bumped down to second. RB Concepts has just made the .28 TM! It doesn't have any power specs but RB Concepts makes the best engines in the world and I'm shure a .28 will have massive amounts of power. Wrong, the genesis .46 is the most powerful. 5 horsepower

a .46 in a truck. When will big enough be big enough without getting into another scale? I'am excited to see how big they'll go without changing scale of the trucks.

I dunno but it seems like the genesis needs that big of a engine to move. It should be like a 1/7 scale

I tend to agree, if all other big trucks are 22" LOA and 15"wheelbase, calling this 1/8th scale. what do they classify 24"LOA and 17" wheelbase as the Genesis is. they should call it 1/8th PLUS!!!!

does any body know what the specs are for the .70 in the EK4?
I think that it is darn powerful.

Both the .70 and .90 from Thunder tiger are converted helicopter engines, they are not ported for the RPM that trucks subject them to. Hence even if they had matching power figures, you would probably find the torque curve to be totally different from even a smaller engine with RPM style porting.

I have seen vids of an EK4 run and it did pull wheelies VERY easy even at speed, but dont know how it revved out. CEN claims that their new engine is designed for truck RPM use and 5 HP peak.

have you ever seen RB engine in a magazine?
have you ever seen spec's on a Rb engine? (i.e. Rpm, bhp)

shouldn't that be a clue? because what does spec make you feel?

cars that have won world champions (pros) what engine are they using?

RPM yes, but no HP ratings for RB engines. The owner of RB has answered this question many times in the past and I think his answer is a good one. He says that since there is no industry standard for rating horsepower in our toy car engines, there is no need to publish what amounts to numbers arrived at by either the SWAG method, or worse, by running an engine so lean it blows up in less than a minute but makes a ton of power right before it craps it's guts. He went on to say that the only value a HP rating may have is to compare the output of engines from the same manufacturer since they would use the same method of determining this for all their engines.
Another huge myth associated with our engines is that more ports equal more power. All other things being equal, it's the total port volume that matters and that is pretty much the same no matter if your engine has 3 (large) ports or 5 (small) ports. The difference is in what you want the engine for. A general rule of thumb is a few large ports will produce more torque from the same chamber volume while more smaller ports will make the engine more efficent at high RPM. It gets much more complicated than that when you consider timing, duration, and overlap, but the basic premise of a few large ports are for low end while more small ports are better for high RPM is sound.

I don't think a .46+ is classified as a true 1/8 big block.... It might be big but it isn't a regular CAR/TRUCK engine block. The RB Concepts 728 TM is the biggest BIG BLOCK that is out for any 1/8 scale car/truck. You can think whatever you want so I'll just sit back and watch you guys easily drop-in a .46+ in your Savage.

How much is that RB 28, and where can you get one? I'll be getting the Losi LST when it comes out, and I'm considering doing an engine swap. I'd like to get an awesome engine for it and sell the Mach 26 on E bay before I ever fire it up.

ACE hobbies was doing a pre purchase for that RB, at 350. Im sure that motor will be 320-370 at most online, or local shops. My LHS tried to sell me one when i bought my Fantom .27.
