Ok so I crossed over here from the rc plane forums (temporally) Looking to buy a nitro 2wd
Mt for my son (and me) been looking at the sport-maxx good, decision or not ???

ya the trx 2.5 is a great engine after you get it tuned properly.and its a very reliable truck and there are parts for it everywhere.youll never have probs finding parts or hop ups except when you lose screws,they arent htat easy to find.

OR YOU COULD POSSIBLY GO WITH THE NITRO STAMPEDE IT GOES FASTER THAN THE SPORTMAXX WITHOUT THE 2 SPEED I BELIEVE THE NITRO STAMPEDE GOES 33MPH AND YOU CAN POP A CAT WALK AT ANY TIME IT HAS THE ORIGINAL PRO.15 ENGINE.
NOT A BAD TRUCK AT ALL.

no offense but the sportmaxx is a godd truck, but the stampede sucks!

the trucks themselves are decent...the engine however isnt. My friend has a rustler and that damn engine constantly overheats and is a plain pain in the anus. He runs it on the rich side and the engine just likes to run hot, very hot. Im not sure you should pick up either one of those trucks unless u are replacing the engine. I dont know of any other 2wd mts however, so ul have to do some research. Sorry! Good luck.

I've got over 5 gallons thru my Sportmaxx and have yet to break a part or have problems with the engine, come to think of it the guys that I race with haven't had problems with their 2.5's either. I love the easy start, hop-ups are everywhere its reliable and easy to drive and for the price I think you get the most truck for your dollar. If you want to you can add a 4WD (I did) and a 2 speed and reverse. I can't think of any other 2WD that gives you as many options as the Sportmaxx. I won't even address the above statement that the Stampede is faster:eek:.

Razoo the nitro stampede is faster. Not by much but it is.
