Right after I added the tuned pipe years ago, the pins sheared off the flywheel. The truck got parked for 6 years. The remains of the old pin were seized in the hole so I had to drill it out. Doing so damaged the flywheel just enough that I had to make new larger pins from a cut down nail. I've considered an aftermarket clutch, but of course then you can't start it with the current starter.
I was just wondering if anyone else had made any changes to the clutch system successfully. |

That's what I said in my last post. I made my pins out of nails and the rest was OK.

Hello. Ive tried cheap batteries before and there is no way i could get that much run time. my tank is 165cc and is 4 wheel d. Do u drive on hard pack when they last this long? The dual servos is a great idea that i wish mine had though The shocks look awesome and strong and may be the biggest . But there is a point that is to big.I could go to auto parts store and get a set of struts and put on there and im sure they would not break.maybe the manufacturers think that is all the bigger u need for strength and weight . Im not saying ur shocks are to big. They look great ! But everything we put on are trucks has to be a compromise between weight and strength. im not trying to bash u. The truck looks great i would want one if it was 4 wd

Hi, I have been out of the hobby for a while now (busy thith fullsize stuff), anyway I see that RC4WD plans to make gears which is very cool.

I have those steel gears on order. In the mean time I have 2 mint condition tranny/diff to work with. I will be running dual vxl BL systems with the aluminum savage arms, castors, cups ect. Running 40 series Proline Weld Cheyenne rims with mashers. Using dual metal geared high torque servos and a spektrum 2.4 ghz radio gear.

Sounds trick, make sure you post some pics when your ready, through the years I have seen many guys mod many diffrent parts from many diffrent 8scale kits to work on the TK/NTK kits... all it takes is a bit of imagination and a few tricks and all sorts of neat things can be done with these very simple kits. I suspect with all the new 8scale stuff out now a person could keep these TK/NTK kits running forever. These kits have more options for modding today then they ever had in the past.
In the past I have posted all sorts of tips and tricks in many diffrent threads, what I was planning to do in the past was to repost all the tips and tricks I got in one thread, in the(TK picture/info gallery) to make it easyer for guys to refrence all the collected tech info in one thread. Agreed. ^^^^ My first rc was an MRC MT-10S back in the early 90's. I was impresed with its durability. I now own 2 MT-10S and one Ironman as well as the 2 ETK. The TKs are very large scale, easy to work on and can be upgraded using different manufacturers parts. I also own a Rustler VXL and a 1/8 Nitro...oh and a couple of modified 1/24 scale Radlines that will hit 25mph.:D I can afford any rc available but like to be different.

Wow! I am happy to hear every one talking about a truck that I think is great too! I really like those ThunderKings that look like monster trucks. What is different on those than on mine? Mine is pretty much stock. This post has made me want to start modifing my it! I drive it at the beach and dunes a few times a year. It seems to be the only truck I have that doesn't ever get stuck in the sand. A hell of a truck! Where are all of you getting parts? I just bought the all alluminum gears for mine. Where can you get the clutch pad? Diff balls? Trans case?
