MGT 8.0 Receiver Battery

Does anyone know if I can use a 7.2v lithium batter pack on the receiver on the mgt 8.0 truck?

you can, but you would need a voltage regulator, and you would most likely have to mount it ouside of the battery box.(zip tie)

Alot of servo's are rated for 7.2v though. Most electronics you can run 1v -/+. I wonder if it would burn up the receiver though. It is probably safer to run a regulator at 6.5v that way you get really good consistent servo performance.

I hooked up a 7.4 vt battery to my mgt and roasted everything.
