Alum. steering knuckles problem
Anyone have the problem with the pivot ball caps being to loose or too tight in aluminum steering knuckles. If I tighten them enough where they wont loosen then the steering wont work. The stock knuckles seem to have a tighter fit for the caps so you dont have to tighten them all the way down. any suggestions like greasing the caps. I dont think thats a viable solution though.
I have integy knuckles, gpm titan balls, and stock caps. I think ill just have to go with the stock knuckles for steering :( |
Use a little Lock tight!
With the stock ones the plastic holds it in place pretty well but, when you have aluminum on aluminum you don't get that hold! Set them to where you want with a little Lock-Tight!

I would suggest teflon tape instead of locktite. Less mess and you can adjust them without having to put locktite everytime.

I use a graphite mixed in alcohol to lube the ball cups. It is a dry lubricant when the alcohol evaporates that way no dirt adheres.
