need Your EXPERTISE...

I have a savage with the stock .21...

I just put on a 3 piece mugen clutch set, with flywheel., ofna 16t bell and an rb pipe and a motorsaver filter.

Just before i did the above i replaced the piston and sleeve, and broke in properly.

Now here is my question...

When i give it gas the engine high revs and then eventually goes, it doesn't take off like it used to. I'm not running it to rich either that was the first thing i checked.

the bell spins freely, everything seems to fit perfect. it rolls backwards and no hang ups.. Would it have something to do with the slipper clutch. I have no idea what a slipper clutch is I know where it is that about it. Do I have to adjust it, since i went to a bigger bell, if so how do i adjust.

Thanks again...

If you are 100% sure the engine is OK, Be sure your clutch shoes are installed properly, you could have put them on backwards. The engine spins counterclockwise and the part that installs on the pin spins first with the meat of the shoe trailing it. The slipper is the small metal disc behind the spur gear held on with the spring and nut on it. You can tighten it down all the way and back off 1/8th turn. If the slipper is too loose the spur gear will be very hot after a few runs. Also it will take a couple tanks for the shoes to seat properly and give you a good launch. You will defanitely need to retune after the modifications.

engine is 100%.

With the 3 shoes there was only one way to install to make them fit, (at least i could omly get them to fit one way), my spur gear is not hot, It started to run a little better, I guess maybe i got a little inpatient after being down for a month. so I'll give it a couple of tanks to break the shoes in..
Thanks for the reply....
