Default OFFICIAL TRAXXAS SLAYER OWNERS THREAD

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!

Ok, I started this thread because every single thread i have read so far only is hype and how can one convert it to brushless.[:'(]

-So I hope that here will be only posts that are NITRO SLAYER based, no B/L conversion or other not related stuff please.

-No B/L vs. nitro fights, please

-I am not trying to be the big boss here, I only wish that this will stay informative and clear.

Thank you!

-Stealthbomber

Ok, I just yesterday ordered my Slayer from Tower, and this will be my first nitro.

I hope that you will post pics of your rides and setups.

I will install Futaba 3PM Fasst! 2.4GhZ system on the slayer the second it arrives.

I will updete this as soon as I get the car!

Few pics of Pro-line´s desert rat body.

-now that is detailed!

Will that body fit the nitro version? Because it's currently on an electric..

There is only slight differences on the sizes slash/slayer, so it should fit perfectly .

No good. We need bodies modeled after the real trucks. Still waiting for the F150.

I really like the look of this truck. I'm sure it will be very fun to drive. I've watched several utube videos of it and the only issue I see is the tremendous amount of sway when cornering. I'm sure that could be fixed with some stiffer springs and/or sway bars. I hope to own one eventually. Traxxas gets an A+ in my book for this truck

Softer springs will actually help more.

Congrats on the new ride! It's sweet!

Now I need a Slayer body and some 1/8 buggy wheels for my Savage[&:]

I Like the look without the stickers. I will be picking mine up on Friday and I think I will be doing that same thing to it.

How's the power? One store owner told me he'd be surprised if it ONLY went the advertised 50MPH but other posts say it needs a gear conversion to get to the 50+ range and will only do 45+ out of the box?

I also heard this can take a big block conversion up to a .28... Anyone tried this yet ???

Can't wait to get mine ...

I think that new gears are needed to reach 50mp/h.

-it is not slow out of the box" -i belive that traxxas says the speed is 45,but with 17t cb it will hit 50+mp/h.

I wish that the first gear would be longer and 2nd way longer geared. -this thing revvs fast!

Well after 1.5 days of Slayer operation I have to say .... Its fast and furious... Kicks total butt in the dirt and, with a bit of tweaking to the suspension, can manage to NOT roll EVERY time you take a corner or break hard on the pavement. Lets just say that this truck was meant to get dirty. It took a little while to really tune it up nicely after the break in, and during the break in it stalled alot. It also required quite a bit of playing with the transmisson to get it to shift where I wanted too but once all that was done.... wooohoooo ... Its a real fun truck to drive.

Here are a few pictures of what you might think is my 3 year old Slayer, but really it's just 2 days old (fun fun fun).... Like I said it is NOT meant o run on the pavement ....

Peace...

I Totally agree that it is not really meant to run on pavement and let us not forget
that is was modeled after the CORR trucks which run on dirt only.[8D]
