Default HPI Nitro MT2 starter shaft not catching the crankshaft

I have an HPI Nitro MT2 with a G3.0 engine and my starting shaft is not catching the crankshaft any suggestions will be greatly appreciated thanks Brian

probably the one way bearing is worn out.
its the thing that looks like a nut when you take the pullstart(or roto start) pice off the back of the engine.
