Official St-15 thread!
Hey guys! Just thought i would see if anyone out there has an st-15... They aren't very popular because THEY SUCK!
They suck until you modify them, that is...
A bit about mine:
Widened Suspension (RC10GT a-arms)
Polished Duratrax tuned pipe (Much more power!)
Stock engine (Runs very well)
Stock rims
Proline tires
Fuel tank mod (Moved it forward on the chassy)
Airtronics Blazer radio
Future mods:
white Dish rims
Proline Ford f-150 body OR an RC10 body
Shorter turnbuckles (The ones on them are a tad too long!)

RE: Official St-15 thread!
Everytime someone posts about a ST-15 it usually that they got rid of it. Not hopped it up. What did you do to make the A-Arms fit from RC10GT.
I might get a used RC10GT from a bloke I know at work. I would only buy it if I can get it super cheap.

They just bolt on! They fit perfectly. The front shocks work great but the back sits a little low and the springs are too soft. I fixed that by just slipping in some spacers.
You do have to drill a hole in each a-arms on the back to make the new dogbones fit. If you have an st-15 and you want to mod it, send me a PM and i will give you the list of parts i used.

I do not have one - Put it in your post here so others can see what you have done. if you have pics post them as well. I think it could be interesting to see.
I sold most of my cars. This is what I have left. I would like to see a list of hop-ups you have done. All parts listed out and everything.

RE: Official St-15 thread!
It would take awhile to get all the part numbers rounded up. Just post if you wnat them... Soon my suspension will be completely RC10. One of my friends has an old RC10T1 that he has slowly parted out over the years. Its too far gone to replace the missing parts so he's gonna give it to me...

Yeah the hub carriers rub the rims. And all four wheels wobble and have ALOT of slop. Its really a poorly desiged car. Any 15 year old like me could sit down with a peice of paper and make it a nice car. Heck, i'd redesign all of the suspension for free if i could.
I'd fix the slop in all the wheels,
put dish rims on it,
a proline ford f-150 body (Like an rc10 bod),
make the a-arms longer,
move the steering servo under the radio plate,
move the gas tank forward to balance out the chassy,
put proline edges on the front,
put proline step pins on the back,
and put a tuned pipe on it.

Hi, I don't think you remember me, but about a half a year ago, I promised that I would bring my St-15 to this club in Staten Island and race. At that time, you didn't have Ed as your picture, you had a skeleton jumping on a ball.

No, i don't think that was me... I used to have a gear as my picture (I don't know why! I think Ed is a big improvement...).
And i live in Oregon! Wrong end of the country!

Sorry but, anyway I remember you and you gave me the tuned pipe s tock # for my ST-15 and also gave a few tips. After all those upgrades I clocked my ST-15 at 40 MPH. Not bad huh

I am using proline tires. I use ribbed on the front, and spiky on the back. I don't have RC10 suspension, but I did increase the strength of the springs. This is sort of strange, but I heated them up and then but them in cold water.

I've got an st-15. I think the most important thing to do to this truck if you get one is swap out that craptacular spur gear and replace it with a thunder tiger 46 tooth steel main gear ( # AD2454 ). You need a bearing with the right id for the shaft and od for the gear, but then you can toss the bushings away too.

RE: Official St-15 thread!
Why a new spur gear? Just put ALOT of blu threadlock on the engine mount screws and the engine won't move...
The tuned pipe sure made a huge difference! An AIRPLANE pipe? What were they thinking!?

RE: Official St-15 thread!
I found that as soon as the spur gear started wearing, it would jump and break the stabalizer mount on the diff. Never had a problem with the engine moving. My biggest concern about the spur gear is the cost to get it shipped. I'm in Canada, so I've gotta have a huge order in to Tower to make it worth getting a $7 spur gear sent to me. Anyway, it has kind of a cool " turbo " whine to it now!
