I couldnt make up my mind between the losi or the gt either. I liked the look of the losi a little better but I wanted the most durable. While I was standing in the hobby shop yesterday in Columbus, eyeing the cars all of these guys were coming in from some big race down the street buying last minute items they needed, and as i talked to them 8 out of 10 were racing losi. They all seemed to feel it was a "tighter more well built car" than the gt. Anyway I got the xxxnt and I think its a very nice truck. Its my first nitro but I already love it. But of course up to this point I have been crashing a Kyosho Ultima Mid GT from the 80"s. As I break stuff on the losi I'll start buying the hop ups to fix her.

that pretty much sums up the biggest complaint people have with losi's: they break A LOT. Its a great truck but does have a rep for being fragile.....there really is very little difference between the two..the driver decides which is better.

If i bought one i would just replace each plastic part that i break with graphite... Expensive!

graphite breaks easier than plastic. and i think losi and rc10 are owned by the same company.

ya i know that im not that stupid. but ive heard the team losi and team associated are both owned by the same company. im not positive if its true or not but thats just what ive been told

i would get the gt. great for bashing. if you break something just replace it with some rpm or graphite parts. then it is realla hard to break.

the losi is a drivers truck
alot harder to drive therefor eaisier to break parts
the gt is a racers truck
it is more foregiving
and there are hopups for the gt that will make it handle like the losi
if not better
everyone wants a drake
and the only part of it i like is the header
and lots of racers got the losi xxxnt when they first came out because of the xr3 radio and the mugen mt.12 engine

So why not just get a 3x-Nt and avoid the upgrades?

I have 2 Losi's, and I consistantly BLOW RC10's off the track..

RC10's are old school, they require Losi parts to even be competitive. Thats why Ebay is flooded with RC10's at sub 200.00 and Losi's are going for 300ish.
The Losi is a racers truck, cut and dry. While I like the RC10's as well, and don't get me wrong they are a proven product. They just cannot hang with an out of the box xxx-nt.

harder to drive? maybe you cant handle it. and the nt rtr comes with the xr2 not xr3. i dont get how you can say that the nt handles better but the gt is a "racers truck." and also the gt is more durable for bashing not racing. most pro racers use graphite parts because they are lighter and stiffer not stronger. and your the NEWB not us. that was your first post and you spelled NEWB wrong.

Can i get an XXX-NT with a .12 engine? Stock it has a .15[:@] so i would have to sell that for it to be race legal... And i wish i could get one without a radio. There is a certain radio i want to put in it...

A Drake edition comes without Radio gear or an engine.

Yeah but the drake edition is 300 bucks for the kit only! Whoa! A tad over my budget...

And i found the RTR at a site called eHobbies for 260 bucks! Horizon sells it for a whoppin' 330! Next time you look for an RC car goto "froogle.google.com". Awsome site!

You can find Losi Rolling Chassis on Ebay all day long. I recently purchased a drake with a pipe, minus Engine and Radio/Servos for 170.

joelacrane- do homeschooled kids get snow days? you should just bite the bullet and buy the drake. if your gona replace the engine and radio anyways its well worth it. its a much better truck than the rtr. just keep your old car for now, buy the drake and save up for the engine and radio. once you get all of the things you need sell the old one and buy cool stuff for the nt.
