RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
Got a CVEC Exaust to replace the one I bought from HPI, Part A940.
Love it - It's expensive, but so far it seems worth the money. It has five placements for its diaphram from better fuel economy to more torque. The fifth hole is the most torque, so I picked no 4. hole. The directions also state that you will have to richen your setting to get it to work properly. I had to riched the low end needle one full turn and the high end one turn 3 hours.
The other nice thing about it is that you get to pick where the pressure outlet goes. Since the MT2 is a right hand exaust, there are not that many choices.
This truck is starting to get out of hand with the hop ups:
Motor Saver Air cleaner
.18SS Engine
CVEC Exaust
Carbon Fiber front and rear shock towers
Titanium turnbuckles
HiTec 645 Steering servo
CVDs front and rear
Fiber brake disk
Racing clutch
Stainless steel supension shafts
Blue Springs
Dodge Body
On the way:
Sway bars
Also my fix for the .18SS engine back plate worked. I used Dubro Lock washers for 3mm screws and Red Locktite. Three tanks and still holding.

How 'bout that Stampede!!!
Makes you want one doesn't it?
I really like the CVEC Exaust. I have had some trouble getting my truck tuned with it, but I finally was able by setting it back to stock and richening each needle untill it ran at the right temp. It seemed so strange to me to actually richen the micture, to lower the temp to get it to run faster. I think this exast is one of the best.
Purple matched the chassis.

Hey guys! What wheels and tires will work on our trucks? I think I remember reading that TMAXX and Savage wheels and tires will fit with an adapter kit? I'm looking to put on something a little wider and lower profile.

I was looking at the Big Joe or the Dirt Hawg 40 series. Do you guys know which wheels will fit the tires and the MT2? Do you have any clearance problems on tight turns?

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
that depends, if it will fit . lol no but i would think so because most of the parts on a mt-2 have suitable for rs4, NMT-2 and some others i can't remember written on there. So just check the parts packageing somewhere.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
Hey Guys - just got some goodies and installed them.
I put sway bars, aluminum hubs and HPI cvds on. I had MIP cvds in it, but I really did not like them. The set screws seem to work loose no matter how much locktite you put on them. The HPI cvds are a piece of artwork. The machining on them is fantastic and they should never come apart. They have made a sleeve that slides over the whole cvd to hold the cross pin - beautiful design.
The aluminum hex hub, 86300, is the final fix to my wheel problems. These with the Tamiya lock nuts has put and end to rounded out wheels.
The sway bars, 86290, is more for racing. I put them on and was tuning the car, when my neighbor said - its steers quicker did you do something? The answer - yes. These things are not good for offroad, but for packed dirt racing they make the chassis rock solid.
Check out the pics!

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
I was wondering about the clearance, sometimes my stock tires rub the body in a tight turn. Grantothismo what tires do you have on yours? Are they the DirtHawgs? What wheels fit those and also fit our trucks?

WOAH. Grantothismo. [sm=tongue.gif][sm=thumbup.gif] I have to admit you done a great job with your truck dude. I just can't believe that you got so many hop-ups! Love the body BTW, i was thinking of getting the same one for a long time now. Is it any good? and did you paint it red or did it come like that? I'm thinking of painting mine gold and getting gold rims for some masher 2k's. Any good? or just silly?
I don't know about the sway bars though, are they worth it and how much are they? And one last question where'd you buy all this stuff? you lhs or some website?
O and happy birthday savage 14. [8D]

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
Hey guys could i have some help please. I've been thinkning of hopping my NMT-2 up (seriously) no little things like body clips and such. I've done all that and i want to buy some performance stuff. I''ve set 50 pounds (around 85$) aside for my body, wheels and tires. Thats WHEN i get the money. So anyways what else can i do? i don't want to buy no shocktowers because i'm waiting for HPI to bring out the aliminium ones (same for a-arms and stuff) I am thinking of getting the sway bars some different servos and racing clutches. Those kind of things. So what are the best hop-ups i should get?. Nothing too Drastic.
O and where can i buy gold body paint and some Super Star Universal Truck Wheels - gold ones and those masher 2000's.
