If you know what to up grade and do it properly it will hold up well. Yes any RC nitro vehicle requires lots of maintenance! On my race buggy I will race about ½ to1 hour not counting practice and maintenance will take 8 to 9 hours and on a total rebuild even more. This is not counting packing loading up or driving sometimes HOURS to a race setting up putting up and driving back. But I will say I very rarely DNF (Did not Finish)! Like any high performance vehicle maintenance is a most!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^^^wise words indeed^^^

i FINALLY got my truck. i don't know if any of you remember, but i have been on and off of this thread for over a year now planning on getting it, so it has been a very long time coming. but i got the 18ss+ kit, put an os 18 cv-rx in there that i had, and finished it off with a motor saver air filter. it will soon be getting a futaba 3pm radio with the FASST system. obviously haven't driven it yet, but it looks very impressive. thanks for all the advice that led me to this decision.

Hey everybody. I have what sounds like, and I beleive, is a dumb question. My friend, who is not into rc, and I are having a debate over what it means to turn a carburator needle one turn- is it 180 or 360 degrees. Please settle this debate.

one full turn would be 360 degrees. one half turn would be 180 degrees.

If it is a true big block you will have to get special mounts and if you have the RTR you should up grade your drive train where it will hold up.

hey, i went to my lhs today to possibly get a new engine. the only thing they had was the .18 cv-rx, which is exactly what i want, but they said id have to get a pilot shaft adapter and would have to cut the shaft to the right length?! I didnt think this sounded right... ive read a few hundred pages of this thread and if my memory is correct i thought it was a direct fit. Anyway, im guessing this is the part they said i would need- [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXM720&P=M]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXM720&P=M[/link] , which i think is already on the 18ss- correct me if im wrong. Just to be sure im looking at the right engine, please put the link to the correct cvrx on tower hobbies. Also, im keepin the .18TZ as an option, so please post opinions., especially on its ease of tuning. Thanx!

One more thing, i just upgraded both of my servos to Hitec 645's, and after a couple of tanks the steering servo would twitch. Another tank after that it seemed it did not have its full range of moton, and it would act as if the trim was being changed continuously. I took it apart and left all the gears in except the one connected to the servo horn's shaft, and the gears moved continuously, without touching the transmitter(it was on though). BAd servo? Fixable?

I do not see why you have to cut the shaft if you have the correct CV-RX and that shaft in the link you posted should be on the engine you have. What engine do you have now? If you get the TZ get ready to spend more on up grading the drive train then you do on the engine!!!! 645 are a SLOW servo but will work for bashing. What radio are you running? Is this MT a RTR?

Hay guys have you seen I picked up another sponsor Byron Fuel? I am all so talking to some others.

It ws a rtr, but upgrded the whole drivetrain... diffs, drivecups, cvd's, everything, than I bought an 18ss engine. Its been givin me problems so i figured id use the engine replacement plan, sell it, and get a cv-rx or tz. Does the upgradd drivetrain hold up to the tz or do you need to replace parts frequently?
The shaft was on my engine, thats why i was confuzed when the guy said i would need it because it would not be on the 18ss. I am using the stock radio, which i think may b the problem because no matter what servo i use it twiches. It also may b because of aluminum parts on my car, if that was the case, what type of radio would not pickup this intrference?

I have a TZ in mine and even with being up graded to all SS drive train I had to do more. In my opinion the CV-RX is all the engine you need. As far as a radio you just cannot beat a 2.4 GHz system. I was running the Spektrum for a year and now use a React. I try to stay away from aluminum as much as possible other then what came on it.

try new batteries. When my batteries go dead in the rascal both my servos hitec 645mg steering and 635mg throttle twitch and start going wild and motionless.

Anyway hows all your mt2's going?. Ive just boxed all mine up. Ready to be sold [] Ive kept my lrp z18s pro engine though. Just stuck the rebuilt t-15 back in.
