RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
All I see is the CV-RX with the short shaft and that will not work in the MT.They sure are HIGH over there as well. I have been told the Nosram make good engines. I think SH makes them.

OK but that is not what is recommend. I never tried using one, as we have no problem getting the correct ones here. But if it works that is all the matters. Evidently you had to make some changes, as there is nowhere to put a bolt to hold the CB on.

For what they cost over there seems you could order one from the US and still come out cheaper or at least no more. And you can get the one with the recommended shaft.

well like i said i,m probly going to trim them down just above the tread
ORIGINAL: nickrummy
I've done the pinned tire trick. Those nails are WAY to long. They will probably push back into the tire and if they don't they will be moving around a lot.
I used tacks. They have a really broad head on them. I turned my tire inside out and put some CA8 on the tack and pushed it through. After I had the tire done I put a layer of duct tap around the inside of the tire until it overlapped about an inch. Then I put the foams back into the tire and glued the tires to the rims. I ran them for the whole winter on an HPI rush. I dont have any pics but I plan on making another set this year.
You only need about 2mm or so of pin sticking out.

The only real problem I have with the power of the TZ is it keeps stripping the wheel hexes but I have something I am going to try.
Well then djheptic looks like you have a couple options. Order the OS from the US, go with the Nosram RS 18 EVO or keep what you have. For what the engines cost over there seems like you could order one from the US and still not pay any more then what they cost over there but be able to get one with the recommend shaft.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
haha thanks, I had one, got it for free for my rs4 3, I hated it and took it out and threw it in my toolbox, lol
either of those tsais pipes are nice... is there any other tsais pipes that would work on the mt2? what else is availible other then the tsais pipe? I know that they are comming out with a new tuned pipe for the evolution and mt's.. it's $33.99 or $39.99... is it worth it? or? can any of the revo pipes or the gt/gt2 pipes fit on the mt2?

This is the brake disc I am running.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...7&I=LXM738&P=K
it is not wore out but the hole were it goes on the hub has gotten very sloppy after MANY gallons of fuel. It works supper!
Is any one running this one and how does it work, as it sure is a lot cheaper.

isn't that the disc that comes with the 18ss? my friend just got the 18ss and we started putting it together tonight. Should be finished tomorrow. It had the fiber brake in the kit.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
The first one is the one that came with my kit years ago (light in color no vent holes) and the second one is just so much cheaper if it stops as well I will get it but if it does not stop well I rather spend the money. The problem is they say they are both fiberglass so are you talking about the light colored one that has no vent holes or the one that is dark in color that has the vent holes?
The one I have is gread for stopping just have to clean it ever so offten. Like it so much I put one on my HPI Rush.
