Maybe I'll drop in a 3.3 then nitronut coz the rest of mine is standard an that'll be sweet are the engines hard to tune every run or they like the nitro t15 and g3.0 engine they kinda hold there tune depending on temp outside. Coz I can start my t15 an run pretty much right away bar they odd twist on high needle both ways to see if any more to get outta the engine.

No i find both the trx 2.5 and the 3.3 are pretty easy to tune ,not to bad as long as you get fuel inside and not to much it will go good and easy to tune

Wicked cheers buddy I'll do that probly or just been my lhs an they said you can wheelie without bigger engine just something to do with bigger clutchbell an less teeth on spur gear an something to do with the diff.

Anyways nitronut I got some more rims today and them road rage tyres so can Tarmac my car but gotta put them in hot water or somethings coz they don't stretch the rims properly apparently it a well known tyre trick. So I'll do that an then bust it on road. Then decide what my fair is weather keep it road an get savage or keep it dirt an get hyper 7 buggy for road

So at one point I ended up taking off the head off my G3.0 and when i put it on i guess i didnt put it on quite right, because after running my mt2 for like 5 mins there was nitro fuel coming out of the bottom, so i took it off and put it back on and it looks like it's all sorted now.
I AM excited about the new rims and duratraxx street trac tires I put on there today, they're low profile, so I think i may change my gearing a little, cuz I get really good acceleration but low top end, but it's crazy fun.

MY MT2 Won't stay running now...I have tried to tune it but it was just running perfect then shut off and has been hard to keep running ever since...Also the brakes seems like they are smoking...is it time for new pads?
I have just hit my first gallon of fuel and never have had any tuning problems before!

Check your clutch shoes and springs. If the clutch is sticking it will cause the engine to stall and it will also cause you to have to keep the brakes on to hold the truck in place.
If the clutch is good check the piston and sleeve to make sure you didnt get any dirt in there. Do you always store the piston at BDC when you are done running?

agree check the clutch 1st something similar happened to me last year. my clutch shoes melted and were getting stuck to the bell and I had to hold the brake as hard as possible to keep it stopped. I actually melted a brake disk from it too. Took the clutch apart the shoes were so deformed they were actually melted to the bell housing.

Hey all, so I've been running my MT2 (G3.0) and it'll sometimes get really hot (it peaked at like 270 at one point), but it'll usually hover around 230-240. I'm using an os8 medium plug and 20% o'donnell's racing fuel. It almost always gets too hot (245*+) when I put thebody on so I always have to run it without the body. any suggestions?

Check for air leaks. Is the fuel new? If you cant get it to run cooler you may have to reset the needles and start from scratch.

Well, I was just given an MT2 by my neighbor. He said he was tired of fooling with it. It definitely needs new clutch shoes and springs and might need a new engine. Any recommendations on which engine to drop in? It currently has the G3.0. Also, what shoe/spring combo have ya'll found to be the most durable? I don't need something for racing, just bashing around the yards. The truck is well used and probably wouldn't hold up in a race. Any other mods that I should definitely make to the truck to enhance its durability as well? How well do the control arms, pivots and shocks hold up?

Also, Astarbllr, Try drilling some holes in the body and cutting air passages. If it's only doing it with the body on, then there isn't enough air flowing around the cooling head.

my mt2's engine is on it last leg so i went out and got an os18. first was the engine mount(didnt know which mount to use). i thonl i have that problem solved. however the shaft at the front of the engine (OS18) is shorter than the OEM engine and the clutch bell and clutch assembly will not fit on the OS18. Did i get the wrong engine or do i need different clutch and bell? enine is an OS18 Cv-r

You should always preheat a new engine with a heat gun or hair dryer before trying to start it. It will make it much easier to turn over and reduce the chances of breaking the pull start

It's funny you said that because I think I may have melted my brakes also...I could tell something was going on because the brakes stopped working a few tanks before the clutch shoes melted
