Default Air bubbles flow from Carb to Fuel tank when Starting

Well first off My truck is a Hpi mt-2 I have a .18 SS and the factory T-.15 engine. It does this with both engines. Afther the engine has been running and it dies: i try to start it and air starts working its way from the carb back to the tank. I use the roto start to crank the engine over. My fuel tank is the hpi 100 cc primerless tank. I usually have to plug the exhaust and crank on it for a while or put my finger over the carb to start it.

Is this normal or what should i look for?

your help is much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure its normal, as it's the same with me. I usually plug the exhaust to get the gas flowing also. It's possible theirs a airleak in your fuel line but I really doubt it.

let me see, you said that the fuel goes from the carb to the tank when it stalls? if that is what you said then it is normal, if you leave the air cleaner on it will help. along with keeping the fuel at the flatest rout possible from the tank to the carb.

I just put my finger over the exaust till it gets to the carbeurator + 1 seccond. then remove my finger.

check your fuel tank lid for a leak?

yea when it stalls you can see air bubles going back twards the fuel tank. They are not very big and only make there way about 1/2 inch away from the carb. Probably just heating of the methanol evaporating.
