RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread-
Whats up guys? Just got a Jato, pretty excited about it, snagged it on Craigslist for $150, never been run. I've been reading the thread (first 50-60 pages or so anyways) and trying to figure out what I need to do to get my Jato reday to rip. I live in MN and its -9 right now, so cant break in the engine till it gets warmer.
I have been reading about issues with the breaks and the break mod with the bic pen and fuel tubing. However all of there posts were from like 2007, just wondering if this is still a mod worth doing or if there is a better way now.
Any other tips would be much appreciated
Thanks!

Look at the thread that is on the 1st page of the stadium truck section. Its called (Jato Dual Brakes). Or something like that. I posted some pics that will help you out. You don't need the dual brake set up but al the other tips and tricks work great.

Oh man after having a couple of very minor issues I was able to start the break in process. So far I love it. I was able to do 4 full tanks and I'm gonna run 1 more before I start the tuning process.

Hi guys,
Check out what happened to my Jatos trx 3.3 crankcase!!! I was bashing it pretty hard and had a blast but damn!! Will get some vids up asap! Luckily I have a spare crankcase from another trx 3.3 I had that burnt up about a year and a half ago! So put all in there and its ready to go! Havent fired it up yet but it should be ok.

RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread-
Hey Devo that's a nice video man. Sound like people were putting some money down on the race. I miss running my jato. NY winters are not good for Nitro powered cars. Too cold to be outdoors well except for today (51 degrees) but I wasn't about to go out in 50 mph wind and rain.
Anyway guys, I need info on changing Chassis plate.
I had a bad crash last summer that took my lower and upper bulkheads as well as my top plate and front arms. I changed all of these but now the front holes on the body do not line up well with the body mount and the only thing I can think of as the cause for this is the chassis plate which I did not replace as it looked to be OK at the time.
Has anyone replaced the bottom plate on their Jato before? Is it a one hour or 6 hout project? I read on one post that its just a matter of turning Jato upside down and removing and replacing plate. No manipulation of engine and other components needed. if done right ell components stay in place. I dont know how true this is as I think there is way too much stuff in there to mess with.
I need the heads up on this one.
Thanks

Check out these pics of my shock and body mount. I did not seen anything bent there. The next pic is of the front end of my bottom plate and it looks ok to me as well. The last picture is the only indication that the problem is bottom plate and this shot is of the fuel tank which is not lining up with plate. As I said I changed all affected parts except for plate. I hope this does the job.
