bet you'd get in some great drifting with them, are they sort of like slicks are on full size cars?
Actually on cement and regular pavement they are pretty grippy. If your in a parking lot with a newly laid black top you can do some very cool drifting. Since its rear wheel drive it takes some practice but i can drift this bad boy real nice lol. And they last forever also.

integy rollcage.everyone bashes integy but i beat the crap out of this thing(for real)and ive had to replace a part here and there but nothing substantial.everything on this truck is integy or new era.yours may be faster than mine but lets talk when you hit something.lol.the key really is to find the parts of the car that transfer the most shock and leave them plastic or composite.i have other cars for speed.i do need to switch to a big block for more torque though...i bet im still hitting close to 55.

the weakest point on a jato is where the turnbuckles meet the tranny case.period.ive replaced my tranny case at least 7 or 8 times.wish someone would make an aluminum one lol.by the way every gear(every) in this truck is aluminum or hardened steel.it has a wicked prrrrrrrrrrrrrrr when its rolling! and also decided to rip the exhaust off.loud.very loud.

There are ones that are made just for the Jato. I will get you the part numbers tomorrow but yes they are 2.8 inch. They also have some very cool carbon fiber looking ones.

I love it. Some complain about the price but for me it was money well spent.

Hey guys,

I just got a jato 3.3 from someone near by, it is very dirt but everything works well. I was a lot on nice and interresting stuff on this thread, I guess I will start to post here !
I was more into the on-road buiseness before (with a 4-tec) but I decided it s time to have some fun with trucks !
I am about to make a big towerhobbies order and I want to be sure I dont miss anything for this season,
basically I want to make my jato a good basher and jumper and I would liek to know what part break the most
here is what I put on my wishlist so far:

1.RPM a arm (rear and front)
2. RPM wide front bumber
3. MIP CVD ( are those useful ?)
4. ProLine Moab tires
5. upper and lower bulkhead ( are those fragile? should I need extras for the whole seasons?)
6. maybe integy roll cage and willy bar

what else should I need ? are the steering blocks fragile ?
thanks for you info, and I will post pics when the cleaning will be done !

i would go with mashers in the back and moabs on the front with 2.2wheels i ran that for a long tome and it worked awesome but hey thats just my 2 cents.the mashers really bite on dirt and grass.

Jatoson your Jato looks sick with all that mud on it. Love it.

Thanks, Quiet

I just got it out of my closet to get it ready foraction now that the weather is turning nice again here in NY. I just got that Savage XI told you about and it has made me appreciate my Jato even more.Savage came from Towerhobbies with leaking fuel lines anda loose piece of metal in the transmission box that wrecked mygears.Check outmynew thread titled "Savage X Transmission Headache" in the HPIMonster Truck Forum for pictures.

Jato Rocks!!!!!!

I use aluminum upper bulkhead.Integy works real well but Iwould stick to composite lower bulckhead as it keeps front end a bit flexible. If you want to go aluminum on lower bulkhead don't use integy. Also for strength, Iwould get this triangle brace (right in front of gas tank in picture)which you can find from New Era. They also make it in carbon.

i will say this...the msr6 piggyback shocks integy makes are straight crap.theyre leaky and the shock cap constantly vibrates loose.warning for anyone thinking about purchasing them.

should I run on 2.2 or 2.8 wheels ?
I will take a look at those masher stinkypinky, looks liek an interesting set up!

and thanks for the input on the bulkhead jatosan I think I will stick with the plastic ones for now (since my budget is not unlimited!) but definitely a future upgrade!

what about the wheelie bar ? will I keep flipping over if I dont have one ? I guess it depends your throttle dexterity!

Also I am planning on taking off the ezstart system, I have a starter box coming in the mail, will the stock flywheel work with a starter box?

What are MIP CVD's? I keep seeing people talk about them and was wondering what that stood for.

What radio controller would you recommend? Is the upgraded one from traxxas any good? I am sure there is better but I have one car and I am really not looking at more so I think the most inportant thing for me would be the locked signal.
