Where's your spoiler? Also, your Jato has a hot rod look now, to me that is.

the jato does't wheelie with the stock tires, on the street it might. i took the rear tires off my rustler and put them on my jato and this thing was CRAZY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i could not keep the front end down when i'm rippin it through the yard, so i moved the battery pack to the center of the truck and it helps keep the front end down, it still wheelies but not near as bad. this is the fastest and qiuckest 2.5 engine that i have ever tuned[sm=thumbup.gif]

has anyone got an inside line with the folks at RD Racing? When are they going to get out some Jato parts?

Here is a new pic of my Jato... I mounted a 1/8th scale wing on the back of it...

R man 5K I like the 8th scale wing setup you put on. Have any pics of the back of the truck? What 8th scale wing setup and parts did you go with to install that setup?

Thanks
Brian

Hi, I just bought a Jato and hope to get it this Monday. Has any one upgraded the TRX 2.5 engine with these Sirio parts?:

5-Port ABC Piston & Sleeve TRIT15041322
High Performance Crankshaft TRIT15083200
Heavy Duty Connecting Rod TRIT15073020

And if so what kind of power gains did you get?
Also just curious what the stock horsepower of the TRX 2.5R is rated at...

Thanks,
Entropy

Dont even bother dropping cash on those parts. I used those to upgrade engines for those who paid me to do it. Even I discouraged people from buying them... I used to rebuild/upgrade engines for people. Now, I do it if someone really wants me to.

You dont get any efficiency or any good hp gains... better off with a new engine, a BETTER engine.

So what's the general consensus on what the best "drop-in" motor is? Also what pipe seems to be the best on the stock engine and other engines? So did the first Jato's they came out with have the regular 2.5 engine and then the later ones have the 2.5R or what? And how do you tell which one you have?

Signed,
-Some noob who's waiting for their Jato to get here Monday so he can rip holes in the pavement

many people are droping in the OS.18 (for the Maxx I think) it will give you way more than enough power. I went in the other direction... I put in a RB V.12. I have loved it.
For the pipe many are running the CVEC single chamber pipe. I am holding out for the new traxxas pipes...
All jato's have come with the same motor. There have been no changes that I know of. Basically after the Revo came out all of the 2.5 motors were upgraded to 2.5R specs... Just the Revo gets a differant head.

I should have my Jato fixed by the weekend. After my big wreck []
I had to replace only about 70.00 worth of stuff. The money wasnt bad but this stuff may take me awhile to do as i have never done any kind of rc repair.
Parts to be fixed:
Throttle Servo (2018)
Front Upper/Lower Bulkhead (5530)
various Tie Rods front end (5538)
upper chassis piece (gulp this part sounds like its going to be hell) (5530)

Decent thing though would be if the guy who caused the wreck had offered to help me....at least i would help someone if i caused it.

Thanks r_man_5k. So why did you decide to go with the RB V12? And why are you waiting for the Traxxas pipes to come out? What's special about them?

I went with a .12 so that I can race my Jato. I went with RB because I know they make great motors. And it has more power than the OS .12 many people have gone with. I have not been racing it this seasion, but plan to starting in the spring. I really like the Traxxas pipe they made for the Tmaxx and this new pipe is going to be much better. They have them for high end and low end in both ROAR legal and non-roar legal.

Very nice job you did on that truck. The RB motors fly. Alot of guys at our local dirt oval run those and the 5 port versions and man those things scream, especially the Roady Versions.

Help me out. Gotta friend with a Jato and is looking for a larger tank to put in it. Anyone have any ideas where I can find a larger fuel tank?? Darn thing runs outta gas too fast.

I've looked near everywhere for one.

Yo R_man_5k, how much hp does the RB V12 have? I guess you're using the 3-port version, since the 5-port wouldn't be ROAR legal. So you're saying the RB has more horsepower than the OS .12 but what about their new .12 TZ's? I think they're rated at about 1.5 hp...
