I snapped one cuz I let a friend drive it, and he was new, and hit head on into a parked car tire at near full speed, but Ive only bent one other, and I just adjusted it so itwould still work.

hey guys
Yesterday i stripped my God damn spur gear caz the engine bolt fell out i got the engine bolt now but i need to get a spur gear. Would a 40T revo gear be ok? they dont sell t-maxx spurs here in china er jato spurs, only revo spurs. thats the biggest one they sell so... I was wondering if this would be too much for my 2.5? Also i stripped my engine screw trying to take the engine out, and my EZ outs arent working...
Thanks
Dan

u need a different clutch bell too...make sure its a 1 metric pitch instead of .8...also your acceleration will go down but top speed will go up

why did traxxas make the revo and jato have different teeth things like 0.8 and 1.0? thats kinda weird. i actullay decided that i am going to order a steel Integy 55T spur gear because my aunt is comming over to china in the end of september, early october so ya. Now i just gotta wait a month for my part . The reason i did this was because they do not sell cluch bells here in china for the revo, RC is VERY small here. Compared to hongkong, where they have 3 alleys lined with 50 different RC and Airsoft stores, and there is a big brown building that every single store rents together and stores thier stock there, but then again it costs just as much to buy something from hk, even more, than the usa.
Thanks
Dan

i dont think steel spurs sound like a good idea. Spurs are made to strip easy if there is a problem. Just get her to get like 5 stock spur gears they are only 3 each...

but if you have a steel spur, it'll never strip, but you have a point there. i may just do that.

A steel sput is a good idea for most. the only thing a steel spur is bad for is there is more rotating mass so it will not wind up as quick. You should not have a problem breaking anything else with steel spurs if you have your slipper set right.

dont they cut out part of steel spurs so they are as light as plastic, or whatever traxxas uses?

they do cut it out...but i think where the weight is makes a difference...maybe...cuz all the weight on the steel is on the outside wile the plastic is evenly distributed...does that make a difference? idk

This is how you brake a front A-arm. I was jumping some parking space stoppers and i would have some shots in the air if my bro could use a camera... LOL

so............. I notice you still have Traxxas arms. Are you ready to buy RPMs and stop breaking them? Get the bumper too... itll save your turn buckles

Already have the rpm bumper installed and you can see it in the pics. Also i have the rear rpm a-arms also. So now that i broke the front ones i will upgrade them as well to rpm.

I FINIALLY DID IT.

You may ask what is it? I drove my jato form my 1:1 car. I did it in a industrial park at about 5pm today (sun) so no one was there. Got it up to about 55 with it not even fully tuned for preformace. Temps where only at 198-210 with a alot of smoke. Its a little hard to control from a moving car becase the rc car accelrates faster and also slows down a lot faster. Also you dont get a good vantage point sitting in a honda civic.

Jato dose alright on grass/dirt with the right set of tires. The stock ones are worthless off road.

The Jato is a good truck. Most all STs have the same driving style. The Jato is very over powered, so you will have to let off the gas to turn. Most all STs are like that... You will need to replace the stock tires for any type of off road action. With the right set up the Jato can be capable on a track.

When you ask about changing gears.... it is very easy. the CB and spur are just like changing on any other nitro RC.

the reason I asked about changing gears is that I have never changed gears (in a nitro) because my other nitro is a touring sedan and it's belt driven. Is it possible to make 2nd gear faster for more top end?

you would be more successfull with changing the CB or Spur gear for more top speed. I do not know if anyone is making the internal gears... other than stock...

as far as more speed... the jato is plenty fast. for off road you do not want any faster.

for on road sure you can make it faster.. but for me right around the 60mph mark it gets too much air under the front end and will flip right over. granted I am not set up for on-road speed runs. I have a nuteral/general set up in my 3.3 basher and a race set up on my RB V.12 Jato...
