Default Evader with OS .18 CV-RX

Hey all, as some of you may know...i bought one of these engines for my rustler...but accidently bought the model with the long crankshaft instead of the short...made for the TRX cars. I figured since the rustler i had is so old and outdated, the engine is worth more. I'm gunna sell the rustler as a roller, and buy a nitro evader BX/ST (not sure which yet). Im just making sure that this engine will work in it. It says on the OS website that it does, i just wanted to hear from a couple users who use this engine in their vaders that it works as a "direct fit." Anywho...im leaning towards the BX just cuz i need to be able to go fast enough around a friends track to beat his .25 savage . LMK People! Thanks a lot..

Get the st and it will fit it will actually fit both, but the st is race legal and more forgiving than the buggy, plus you can put the buggy gearing on the on the st and it will be just as fast probably better due to the bigger tires.

I was thinking about tossing a OS .18 CV-RX on my Evader ST as well, but I'm still new to the sport so I'm not exactly sure what else I'll have to upgrade in the process of swapping the stock engine out.

it's a total drop in man.. nothing to change.. I did however beef up the diff with aluminum gears just so it would hand the extra power.. pull the flywheel and clutch off of the DTX and put it on the OS.

I am buying the o.s. cv-rx w/11J rotary carb. The engine fits onto my car perfectly. It cost about 109.99. I cant wait because with that I will buy the evader bx spur gear and custom clutch bell and my will be reaching spereds well over 50mph.

You can pick that engine up at Leisure Hours in Plainfield, right off of 30, for 100 bucks..

I'm going to head up there probably saturday to pick up some parts and another RC18, if you are around maybe we can hook up.. I may change it to be up there thursday or friday evening though..

I used to race at their oval track about 10 yrs ago, it was really nice then, I haven't checked out the tracks lately..

What about [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHLV9&P=ML]this[/link] engine?

Is this a "drop-in" replacement?

That engine *should* fit. It seems to have the standard mounting dimensions. You will need a different header because of the rear exhaust. Looks like a pretty serious mill!

The cv-rx is a drop in replacement. If you arent talking about that engine which one are you talking about.

I need to find a header for it.

Also, will I need a new tuned pipe?

You might need a new tuned pipe unless you can find a perfect fit on the header. I really cant think of a header that would fit.

The tz has way to much power for the evader you would destroy it as that is the most powerful small block engine made.
