Default .12tz in a st

What do you guys think of the 5-port tz in a st. I have yet to hear anyone talk abou these engines so i would like to find out if it's a good idea before i take the plunge.

That's an onroad engine, I think it would work well in an ST though. It comes with a pilot shaft though, which won't work with your clutch. 5 Ports isn't race leagal for stadium truck racing, although some tracks will allow it. With that money though, you can buy your self a nice .18 engine which you will have WAY more fun with. The only upside to the 5 port TZ would be the longer run times. I wouldn't buy it, too much money... I can buy a $130 SH .12 engine and have it ported for under 60 bucks and it would kill that TZ

I would like to get the .18 tz but I have a bad feeling that it might just make my car explode.[:@]

Valve, i could take that .12 and have it ported for free and it'd rape a TZ:P
on an offroad track that is. I haven't actually run an on road race in over a year:|
*EDIT*
btw, people said the TR was an onroad engine, but i've only seen ONE onroad car with a TR in it, LOL.

so what would be better than a .18cvr then. I just ordered a dynotech clutch bell and a 22 tooth pinion from the ntc3.

i was at a race in bakersfield lastnight, and the eraly parts of this morning and i saw the tz in a dirt oval sprint car, i must say it was a really hard engine to start, i mean i have had engines that dont like to start but i was helping this guy get it running but man it was hard, i must say once it did start it was awesome especially in the dirt oval races, wow it was amazing the power it had, it was such a nice engine because it would spin the tires the whole way through the turns and that is what you need

well, i dunno about that. the 18CVR's piston/sleeves are only about $15 cheaper than the whole engine...but you get a WHOLE lotta motor for $100

.12 tz isnt really just a "on road" engine. They have short shaft versions for a reason... RC10GT drop ins.

The horsepower bandwagon is looking pretty full. Stick with the .12 CV or .12CV-R, if you want control and reliablity.

I already bought my 18 CV-RX, I'm just waiting for it to get here.

How does it compare to a well-tuned DTX 18?

I mean bashing as in loads of torque and high speed = fun. I want the most beastly thing that wont destroy the car, I just orded a dynotech clutch bell so the torque will be helpful.

I emailed them for an order last week and they never got back to me. Looks like I'll have to pick up the phone.

I hate phones.
