RE: YA or Na on the Jato?
it will take a while for the jato to get its name up but it should race very well when the mods come out for it, go for it, get 1 and tell us all.

RE: YA or Na on the Jato?
Jato is a GREAT SUPER FAST truck. Get it. I think you know that you want a jato, just need reasurance, so here it is, get it lol. Trust me, you wont be disappointed. They are so much fun.
I just took of the side bumper things on the jato while cleaning it, and I noticed that the jato looks so much more sweet with out them on. I know its probably better to keep them on, but it takes off weight and looks sweet as crap for some reason, looks more like a st than a buggy now.

RE: YA or Na on the Jato?
Traxxas is starting to get out there hop ups and RPM is in the works of making A-arms for it. Integy and New Era have out a ton of stuff, but I do not recomend most of there parts.
For my Jato I have added the following Traxxas parts:
Sway Bar Kit
Red Aluminum Turnbuckles - although I am going to replace them with the Lungsford Titanium Turnbuckles.
Aluminum Stearing Blocks
Aluminum Caster Blocks - 25 degree
Aluminum Hub Carriers
A few differant spring sets for front and rear
As soon as Traxxas releases them I will also have one of there new pipes and the Low Mass Metal CVDs. Those should be out next month
I also have changed the motor. Nothing against the 2.5 I just wanted a .12 so I put in a RB V.12 and switched to a 23T Clutch Bell along with a spektrum reciever and better servos. I have also made a few other minor changes... Such as I added a 1/8th scale buggy wing. And of course I did upgrade the tires. Losi Ribs on the front and I have a few differant tires from ProLine that I switch out for the rear.
There will be more and more parts come out for the Jato. In time. You have to remember that it is a new truck.
I still say get it. It is a fun truck. I am very happy with mine. Out of my garage of over 10 R/Cs it gets the most use.

RE: YA or Na on the Jato?
The rims are Traxxas Light Weight Dish rims. The front tires are Losi Ribs and the Rears are from proline.
The wing is from my TTR EB4 S3. I never used it on the buggy (put on a proline right away) so after seeing all the post about wings on a Jato I though why not...
I used an old buggy wing mount that I had left over from when I was goin to put a wing on my Maxx. I mounted it in by useing longer screws where the rear turnbuckle mounts in for the wing mount bottom screws. The wing mount is the same width. I will try to remember what buggy it came from... For the top screw holes in the wing mount I put a turnbuckel across the front of the rear shock tower and screws in to the wing mount.
Check out my web site in my sig for more photos... I don't have any with the "top mount" but there is one that shows the bottom screws pretty well.

RE: YA or Na on the Jato?
Yes, the os 18 tm is a direct drop in for the 2.5, amazing power Ive heard but quit pricey-$215. They make revos flip over easily, my jato may be over powered then, but i like torch, I will just gear it taller to help out with the flip over action. Arent you getting tired of st's yet though, after I get this engine, for xmas I think im going to get the 4.6 savy so I have to cool completely different cars. Its gonna be great. Maybe you should look into mt's, but ur a "speed freak" lol, savy's wont give you that.

RE: YA or Na on the Jato?
This is true, never did get into bashing, I never seen a point in spending on that money and taking it out and tearing it up, but oh well, maybe it's just me...I have a RC10 GT now and I'm going to sell it to get a Jato if I dont get one for x-mas...if I get a Jato for x-mas then I'm still going to sell the GT and use the money for hop up's...

RE: YA or Na on the Jato?
The truck doesnt wheelie because it actually has a kind of sluggish take off for the first 10 feet or so but then the powerband takes over. The take off is sluggish because of the gearing which I dont mind since I have about a full 1/4 mile of smooth pavement to run on. The only problem I have now is that the front wheels balloon but I'd rather that than the rears. I just ordered some wolfpack adaptors for the HPI MT to run OFNA buggy wheels in the rear. Not sure how much this will work but if it doesnt I'll just stick the set of buggy wheels on my MT.

Useing tape on the inside of the tires is very common in MT racing to get rid of the balloon affect. But I have never tried it with the smaller 2.2 size ST tires. But I am pretty sure it would still work.

RE: YA or Na on the Jato?
What are you talking about nightrider, dont you have a jato???? By the way if Im thinking of the righ person, you had the brake trouble like I did. My problem was fixed by getting new servos. Now when I hit the throttle, it releases the brake completely. Did you ever get your brakes working.
