No need to double post.
Totally 100% depends on your local track. Some areas may be all MTs, some may be all 1/8 scale buggies, some may be no nitro at all. 1/8 Buggies, Stadium 4wd (truggy), Nitro ST, and Nitro MT are all pretty universal racing classes with a lot of popularity. Do what cha like.

Sorry about the double posts...I just figured most people kinda stay in their "specialty" forum
Thanks for the reply..my local tracks say they dont have enough MT's all together to make even 1 class. And I bought a MT...dang. LOL

id have to say - 1/8th bug, truggy, then 10th truck- MT's have died out in IL. ,i think its because it costs a LOT to get them to be race worthy and they just dont turn as good on these tight tracks. thats why the truggy class is booming fast. the 10th scale is good in the winter in the indoor tracks along w/ the 8th bug. thats just all around me in Iowa and IL. I travel to numerous tracks up to 6hrs away in Omaha and there 10th truck class is #1

RE: What is the most common racing class?
hey dude!!! before you buy a truck and set out to find a class to race in.. why don't you head over to your local track (where you want to race) and see what those guys are running/using? Most guys (if they are a decent person) will tell you what chassis, engine and give you an idea on setup to use... usually racers tend to help new people out because they are the future of the hobby/sport/class...
this works so much better.. you start so much further ahead, because you at least know that you have the vehicle to hook up and be competitive with everyone else. If you aren't competitive then your driving sucks and you need to work on that, ha!!
where I'm at it seems that the offroad guys were running a lot of buggies and ST's the other night, there were a few MT's but not many.. the other track that I go to runs ST's but that's oval racing
