Default Turning the Pipe sideways?

What do you think? bad idea? i'm sick and tired of having to clean spent nitro off the body on my rush. if you look at a savage, they have the stinger facing down, so it might be fine. i don't see any problem with it if it's secured properly

Just turn it and mod the hangar.

Find an MIP RC10GT stinger pipe. it lines up almost perfectly with the hole in the rear shock tower.

That would mean cutting another hole in my new body

i think the reason the stinger on savage can be down is because the stinger wont hit the ground when bottomed out. the rush's stiger will be below the chassis and will hit when bottomed out.i pointed mine diaganal to the ground.

I personally would just deal with the fact that nitro goop gets all over the side of the truck. at least it doesn't get anywhere but the left rear

get a bit of pipe or some think that will go on the end of the stinger.
if not than just go to electric because this is what nitro is all about

I don't see what's wrong with a little goo, either.
You are running in the dirt and getting it dirty there(wild assumption there...), and there is almost always some maintenance or adjustment that warrants a good cleaning periodically. Until then a rag and a toothbrush and an airhose keep things clean enough.
I run my pipe turned at an angle towards the ground, too. It does help keep it off the tire, but now it gets on the rear a-arm from hitting the ground.(the exhaust, not the pipe)
It changes the sound of the engine, too, just by bouncing the sound off of the ground.

What about exhaust deflecter?
You're talking about the little piece of tubing that you put over the stinger of the pipe to extend it out past the tires, right?
That is a viable solution. Keep in mind that the 'tune' in tuned pipe doesn't account for an extra couple of inches on the stinger, so if you spent big bucks on a tuned pipe, an exhaust deflector will 'untune' it. Or at least change the characteristics of the pipe.

I'm just wondering if it would change the backpressure to the tank, and if so, would i need to tune richer or leaner? And with the body, i was talking about my new one that i just finished painting and trimming, not my current body. And i don't mind a little goo either, but i'm just trying to make it as maintenance free as possible - i know it won't ever be maintenance free, but i think you get my point

Yea, I like to keep a new body nice and new looking for as long as possible, too.
But it's only for a couple of days running at best, then it starts looking like a used body(maybe I should spend more time on the wheels....[:@])Then it gets bashed till I can't glue it back together anymore.(I love shoe goo!!)
