Supercharger on a Traxxas engine? No wonder they have a bad reputation. I think that i would be cheaper and easier to just put in a big block.

yea power gains are mediocre, it's good to brag about tho. And no they aren't his cars. Go to RBinnovations and check it out, they make all sorts of stuff to waste money on.

You are correct in saying that supercharger's don't work on 2-strokes but they will work with glo fuel engine's.

are those your supercharged cars? because superchargers dont work on 2 strokes.

RE: Traxxas JATO Supercharger
they dont, take the haed off you engine and look at when the intake ports are open and see how the exhaust is too? the supercharger just blows the fuel/air out the exhaust.

Well, they look cool, cost a lot but no real power gains. If you want real power gains then you should open up your engine ports and run a real "tuned pipe". Or just get a REX engine with a tuned pipe.

RE: Traxxas JATO Supercharger
iv'e heard from many many many people that superchargers just can't work on a small 2 stroke glo engine. also that if they do work the horsepower gain is no more than 0.2. but the rb supercharger def looks neatto

Well, if they're not giving you power, then they are taking it away. It takes power to drive a supercharger. It has to give you back more power in return than it takes to drive it in order for it to work. Did you know the the supercharger on a top fuel dragster/funny car takes 1000 Hp to drive it? Of course those engines put at an estimated 8000 Hp at the crank.

RE: Traxxas JATO Supercharger
what's your problem?
anyway, ive heard that you will actually lose power, and it makes sense to me because since you are blowing fuel right through the engine, you are creating a leaner environment and you would have to richen it to keep it running.

RE: Traxxas JATO Supercharger
alright, i have one more thing to say....that's like saying a turbo/supercharger doesn't work on ported engines, right? engines that use ports instead of an actual camshaft/valve set up? right? then why does a turbo set up work on an rotary engine? I understand the piston actually spins and blocks/opens ports at different times..but still?? it's just weird, it's like you guys are saying if you blow forced air into the engine, it just blows out the exhaust...well all the air/fuel blows out the exhaust, that's like saying these engines in general just plain don't work, how do you think it would not produce more compression if you used forced air induction on it?? Im extremely confused, i really have to KNOW why the set up won't work on these engines...
