I am going to have to wait.........I just spent 160 bucks in upgrades on my GT. I would like to see how long those quick release wheels last or how many tires spin off the truck. I do like the chassis and the fuel tank. Hooray for the battery and reciever boxes as well.

HAHAHA yeh i like it, they have settled for a stiffer design actually ill bet its not stiffer than the upgrade thick original chassis but rather lighter and just as stiff.

if anything, the current GT is heavier than this one. "all that plastic", yeah, your XXXNT has just as much plastic. Perhaps you haven't LOOKED at an XXXNT lately? This is what they look like:



Looks just as heavy as the GT2 to me.

I think the point he was trying to make is...Any speculation or opinions formed at this point are un-tested and un-founded, so just wait and see.

I'm sure that AE has been hard at work in the secret lab. I'm sure it wouldn't have taken this long unless they were getting it 'just right'.(again with the un-founded speculation)
I think it looks sweet. I'll wait to form any other opinions until I have more data.

AE hasn't released anything lately that wasn't error proof, except for the MGT in a couple ways. The GT2 might have a flaw here or there, but it looks like its come a LONG ways from what it was before. Now, hopefully it doesn't BOMB on the track. After the success they've had from their redeveloped team of drivers, would be a shame to see a new truck go down in flames.

So when does this bad boy come out? I cant find anything on release date. Just my take on the truck, it looks alot like the mst1. Pick those up for 100 bucks. I want a rc10 though, but will wait for the 2 to come out.
Anyone have a release date? Tranny ratio? Any kinda specs?
Must also add, it looks well balanced, looks like they have done there home work.

Look around july at the hobbyshop. Our hobbyshop guys thought I was a god just because I heard of the new GT2 coming out... they must live under a rock.

well just belonging to a forum or two and surfing around a handfull of rc sites can really help you know a heck of a lot that is going on... i remember i sort of slowed down on the forums and other useful sites for a while, and when i come back everyone is talking about all this new stuff i have never heard of...

I called tower hobbies, and the person there said that they had not even placed a pre order as of yet from AE. Thus a release date was not known I hope they were mistaken. Most warehouse buyers order their inventory 90days to 6 months in advance.

That body looks very similar to Jason Tebo's body. Possibly this is a pre-release test version for the AE team to use? Either way, I love the body, the colors and design are awesome.

Can't wait till it comes out, any hard dates selected yet, or is it just 'summer'?

Dont hold your breath for the GT2 to come out this summer. It will be fall at best. Just in time for the end of the season.

ya i think so fall release just in time for christmas hope i am wrong i am hold off getting into 1/8 so far as i still like 1/10 and the rc10gt2 is the main reason i am waiting if its to long then a ofna buggy will come next and ill wait tell next year for the gt2

Wait for next year, i can almost PROMISE more ST releases. Kyosho to do something soon with a new truck (its only time, now that they are settled here in america, would be wise). Even though Kyosho said last year, they wouldn't be doing anything anytime soon. Thats what they said about their new electric touring car, it wasn't supposed to go into production IIRC. Mugen is due, and what about losi?

If the GT2 is indeed a step above of the best, it'd be a no brainer for others to release theirs too.

It's called progress. Many of todays "real" cars are made on similar platforms. Thats just the way it goes. The double deck chassis has been around before the losi by the way. An aftermarket double deck chassis has been available for the gt for years.

Huh? Just because it has a double chassis? IT may look simular, but side by side they don't match up. [:-] It's a AE truck through and through.
