OLD fantom engines were good for a few gallons, then went to crap. Wait a month or two. Fantom is ALSO going to have CRF engine technology... well thats my assumption. Peak, Orion and Fantom always do the same thing and have extremely similar products. Heck, Peak's CRF engine is almost ready to sell.

I've had great performance our of my '05 fantom .12, runs reliably and with more power than anyone would need in an ST. I've got about 2.5 gallons though it it right now and it still runs like I have just broken it in.
The only thing I know about the older fantom engines is that they were really good for power but their life wasn't as long as the OS engines.

Yeah, peak, orion, and fantom engines are all basically the same, just differen't colors and prices. I had an '04 FR12 and I have an FR18. To be honest, the FR12 was pretty damn good. The FR18 doesn't tune easy though.

Fantom, peak, and orion are 3 completely different companies, 3 completely different specs to every engine. Take all 3 of their .18s and test them... then you tell me they are the same The wasp .18 is by far the 2nd worst .18 on the market.

Thanks... that engine looks pretty cool. Since you seem to know a bit about other engines than myself, let me ask you this question. I like my Top Tn12s1 engine very much. What is this newer technology going to do for me realistically? I can get another Top engine for 150 bucks now knowing that those Italian engines are built impeccably. Is the CRF technolgy worth it in an Orion or Peak Performance engine over a Novarossi or Collari ?

Novarossi makes the top and rex. Great engines and definately can't go wrong. You get performance at a great price. Fantoms were great for their time, but they died out. Might as well move onto the Novarossi. All I'd run would be OS, Novarossi, RB, JP, Mega, and Maxy. That's it. Any of these knock offs n suck forget about it.
