Default reliability of the MT2 clutch

Hey guys I think ive been mentioning along the way the difficulties i have with the stock gt clutch, the 4 shoe setup, the mip 4-in-1, the alloy t max setup, the mugen setup and etc etc so how is the mt2 clutch, i see it has a roller bearing and im not sure how that is reliability wise, i want it for its 14 teeth property but it seems i cant get a 14tooth with normal bearings, so how does it fair?

Default RE: reliability of the MT2 clutch

I recommend going to a Savage clutch bell and bearing like on the MT2 SS. If you are going to run the stock style clutch bell get two 5x8mm and one 5x8mm flanged bearings to replace the stock roller bearing. This is what I did not my MT until I up graded to the Savage clutch bell. The stock CB just wears out to fast for me and then eats up the spur.
Hope this helps.
Savage CB go down to 13 teeth.

The spur gears and clutch bell on the MT2 .18SS is the same thing as the Savage. Go to HPI web site and look under the MT2 .18SS and you will see. All so on HPI web site you can down load any manual with the parts listings and you will see on the 18.ss the part numbers are the same as the Savage. I have them on my HPI MT 1 ¾.

May I ask where you are getting your pitch information? I know I ran a stock RTR style CB with the Savage style spur for about 2 gallons before changing to the Savage CB. I all so took a MT 1 spur gear and laid it on top of the Savage spur and with my poor old eyes looked the same to me. Correct me if I am wrong. Or am I missing something?
