Hey all,
I have an hpi nmt which I moded a few years back with a thunder tiger .21 same motor which comes on the menace one thing I would really recomend if you want to wake the motor up is ditching the stock pipe. I have a Mega novarossi 9886 on mine and it made a huge diffrence !

can anyone tell me what other trucks use the same wheels as the menace as ive just slammed mine into a curb and broke the rims

Hi rcsup1,
I have just been on here a short time now where I got lots of help and tips about my son's Menace. I hope to be getting another Menace soon for my self so I can race with my son. I see that you say to drop the stock pip and replace with the Mega novarossi 9886 as I am new to all this would I get one from schumacher or could you tell me were I could get hold of one as I am in the UK.

It's me again the one that knows nowt. But getting there I hope. After getting me son's Menace fixed and he had a good time on the field with it. Now it's back to a fault. looking at the piston it does not move and and I can turn the egine over with finger and thum?
and the carb is full of fuel at the sponge at the bottom part? Also can anyone tell me what to do with the tornado air filter oil were do you put it? as I carn't see anything in the book about it.

use the tornado filter oil to moisten the air filter sponge u dont want to drown it but u want to make sure it is all moist

Drown the air filter in oil making sure it goes all the way through and covers the sponge from head to foot. Then squeese it with a rag to get rid of what isnt needed. Like Ice said dont leave it drowned.
Your estart may of broken i snapped mine when i flooded my engine once because the drill was set on high tourqe
Take of the e satrt by un screwing the 4 small allen key bolts holding it in. Then You might have a bettwr idea of whats wrong. If your still not sure post another message.
You should always set your drill to the lowest torque setting. Cover the exhaust and turn the drill for just 2 seconds. Then attacth the glow plug and turn it over till it starts. Don't worry if it doesnt start straight away. If after about 10 seconds it hasnt started you may need to cover the exhaust and turn it over again. But only for a second.

Thanks very much for that. You got it right it is the estart that has broken. So I have ordered a new and a drill from schumacher which should be with me soon also thanks for telling me what to do with the air filter oil. I that it stop's any dirt getting in your carb. As for starting do you ever need to take the pipe off at the exhaust and blow down it to get the fuil to the engine? or will the 2 seconds be all that is needed plus the finger over the exhaust?

hi try starting as normal
if it dont start coever the exaust with ya finger whilst turning ova the engine for a few seconds
then start as normal

If the Fuel doesnt go up the exhaust while covering the exhaust and turning it over.
Some blow in the exhaust.

What good is fuel in the exaust and not the engine? lol... drunk on New Years i c..
I think banana meant to blow in the fuel line that goes from the fuel tank to the exaust. Take the line off the exaust an blow til you see some fuel go to the carb. Then try to start it.

No im serious some pick up the car and blow in the exhaust.
Some suck first and blow smoke rings with the fumes.[&:]
When i have no fuel going into my carb either the engines over heated. So i leave it to cool down. Or there is already fuel in the engine. so i put the glow plug on and drill and it starts and runs lean for a while until it sucks the fuel up it self.

Well i finally parted ways with my schumacher menace .21, i had it for a little longer then 3 months. I really enjoyed the truck but, right now i am at a point in my life where i had to sell those things, i wont have time for in college and unfortunately the menace was the first casuality. The times i spent with that truck i will never forget. the first time i had it out and gunned the throttle and every tire spun, it brought a huge smile to my face. Also the 4wd cyclone doughnuts that caused the truck to actually roll on its top were something to been seen, and experienced. Let alone the sick top speed, and that awesome sound of it shifting all the way to third. Never before in the 8 previous years of owning and operating r/c cars was there anything quite like the menace for me. It was something so over the top, and so packed with power that a r/c car this fast should be against the law. Well i don't know about that... but, I will still be on this forum to provide any input i can about the r/c car and i still have the pictures of my car up in my profile. Thanks everybody for there help and advice the entire time i had my truck.

hi it will do 70mph from stock its capable of more when tuned if he only hitting 58 i can only assume he has fiddled with settings and not getting the most from the engine

not really but im sure it will be ok as long as u have decent grip but i would advise not to stand anywhere behind it as it will spray it a fair distance that i do know
