Default Offical Schumacher Menace .21 Thread v1.0

Hey this thread is dedicated to the baddest r/c truck around, the Schumacher Menace it is teh fastest truck on the market, it can accelerate from 0-40 in 1.9 seconds and can reach speeds of over 70 mph!! So lets start this thread off in a good fashion without any bashing or b/s liek that and lets keep it clean..its all about the Schumacher Menace.

I personally have never radared it, inorder to reach that speed you need a lot of room, i have had the truck into third gear a few times but ran out of street before it could wind all the way out, i would say i have had it over 60, my previous truck was clocked at 51 and this is much faster, then that.

Yea, as soon as i kill the stock engine im gonna upgrade it, but i was thinking more along the lines of a picco 26 or a 28, maybe even a .32!! The biggest i can get to fit! Im addicted to power and speed, i always want more!! lol

Oh yeah i just don't want to be stuck with an engine that won't fit. Idk what engines will or will not fit, i know they have to be a standard threaded crankshaft but idk if the engine will have enough clearance.

Hmm well i guess there isn't a whole lot of backing here on rcuniverse for the Menace. A lot of peopel i ahve talked to on here ahve the wrong idea about the menace, the truck doesn't wheelie and it is very stable and i was able to run quicker lap times with it then i was with my adam drake edition xxx-nt. I had my truck out today testing soem new fuel and a retuned carburator and wow this thing has really come to life, i am going to replace the worn out first gear and buy the new gear cover schumacher makes for it and thats all it needs, the truck is great. It is by far better then any of my traxxas cars i have had before, and i like it more then both of my xxx-nts.

Hey brent, glad to see your still enjoying your menace. Im sure its one toy we'll never get bored of!! Although personally i dont think the new gear guard is worth it, when the clutch went on mine i had to take apart most of the car to get to the gears because the screws to take off the new guard are under neath as opposed to on top so its a huge job getting it off!

As for the fusion to menace 21 conversion i really dont have much clue although i dont think it will be that hard because the menace 21 is based heavily on the fusion chassie, so ive heard

P.s there are more menace people out there, ive seen lots on glypo's forum but lately its run really dry! if you wanna check it out its www.glypo.co.uk

Had the Menace out earlier i couldn't help but drive it lol, looked so tempting, and the truck was running great, then i started jumping it off the curb. I jumped it about five times and then i jumped the curb over my driveway and then it wheelied and stripped the already worn out first gear. So that kind of ended my day a little early, the nice thing is i already have extra gears, because i was waiting for something like this to happen. Tommorrow i am going to realign the truck since it doesn't want to seem to track straight, and then i am going to put the new gears on and try the new tires i bought with my freshly painted black rims. I love this thing.

They look like the proline dirt hawgs but, they are made by GRP they are very good tires they come with a harder foam in the tires and they we $16 a pair here. They are made in Italy, so far i really like them, but they are kind of expensive. Not to mention wheels were pretty expensive to from schumacher.

Just tested out my truck, the new transmission held up through my test so i am pretty happy about that. The tires also hooked up great on my little track the only problem is the Menace itself gets kind of choked up on the track because it wants to stretch its legs, so i had to take to the streets. On the street the truck did great it shifted fine and i didn't lose it although i came close. My street tires are bald now, so i would easy onto the throttle and then floor it and then the truck woudl just spin out lol, This truck is basically overkill, but i love it.

lol yea, my new street tyres are good for the road and the road only, on wet grass it doesnt move, it just spins. I had a look at those tyres and they seem pretty good, ill try them out when i destroy my ones and $16 isnt bad, over here in the uk things are slightly more expensive i just paid £24 for 4 road tyres and £12 for 4 white 5 spoke wheels.

I was out running the car yesterday after fitting the new bearings and im a bit annoyed to say that its broken again, the rear differential broke, is it normal for it to go through these many parts after such few runs? although i did notice it grinding a bit last time when the clutch broke. Its not that the parts even cost that much its just that i really enjoy driving it and hate not being able to!

Anyway i drove it around a bit when it only had front wheel drive and man it had no grip, it just wheel spins for ages, its times like that, that remind me why i didnt get a jato, it has no grip!

The rear diff is £35 quid []

Hmm well idk i had my first accident today with my truck, i just hit 3rd on my street and i lost control the truck flipped and slid on its lid for about 10 feet then went sliding into my neighbors yard where it flipped atleast 8 times. The servo horn is done and the pin in cvd in the left front is gone and the right rear one alwasy coems loose. For some reason the accleration righ off the line it bogs and i am not happy about that idk what to i guess lean it out some? Anyways i have to order a few things and idk how you check to see if your diff is tight on a 4wd car?

Ok well i figured out my problems i called schumacher and they had all the answers, the guy there said a high output .21 would be better then most .26's so i will keep that in mind once my engine is done. I almost second guess myself for wanting more power after what this truck can do to itself with the stock engine, so i'll see, 5 mph wouldn't be worth the price of differentials and spur gears. But maybe thats just me. I finally got the tune right so it won't bog and i am very impressed, i am surprised at the difference it made off the line. I think that if i want more power i will start running 30% when this engine is on its way out and see how i like it. Anyways the new parts should be here in a few days, until then the truck will be up on the stand.

Ok cool, but what i was thinking is that if you put in a .26 and change the gearing to a higher speed gearing then the more powerful engine will still give you the good acceleration and the gearing will give you the much higher speed. Another thing i wanted to ask you was, what parts are actually covered by schumachers guarantee?

That might work, i am not the best person to ask about that i bought my truck used on here. I am not sure what parts i woudl say your best bet is to call them and see. I am not aware of a parts guarantee.
