No it won't line up with the other gears.

I've had my storm advertised locally all year and had two nibbles.  Weird.  I usually post trucks and get a lot of activity.   Its dead right now.

Thats the nitro rush, the precursor to the firestorm. Good to see one still being enjoyed. Are you still running the original engine?

Thanks JUBE I got the alloy parts from Integy. And the carbon chassis and shock tower from I think it was Extreme racing dot com. The top deck is HPI. I'm trying to forget the money I spent I've never modded a car like this before. The furthest I went was a set of hong nor big bore shocks for my Hyper ST Pro. The Chassis was around $60 not cheap the shock tower was around $8 the integy parts are listed above. It is'nt cheap but I'm gona sell the rest of the rc cars I have to fund the rest. Still have the shocks alloy steering system new diff parts rear arms gona get an alloy rear shock tower too and maybe edit nuckles got the drive shaft upgrade to go on and new tyres too lot more to see yet just made the vid quick so it isn't great as you've seen. Will try harder nextime.

Can someone post a picture of their carb/needle positions?  I just opened the box, brand new, and was checking everything out.  The HSN isn't flush, it seems to be a few turns in, CW.  On the DVD and from everything I've seen/read, it's supposed to be flush.

for the g3.0 yes the stock settings are flush.  some times they dont come that way from the factory in that case turn it out till it is.  no one will be able to tell you how many turns in or out it should be on the fourms as nitro is based on where you live and weather.

    I like the firestorm handling.

I drive an e-firestorm and savage XS and both are very different but I wouldn't say one is better than the other.  The savage is very sure-footed and has a lot of grip but the firestorm is much more nimble and can be slid around with a lot of control.  I can say the same for the nitro firestorm versus a savage X, too.

Spent the morning breaking in the motor and after what felt like days, was able to hammer it and fine tune it. WHEELIE MONSTER!! I can't imagine how this thing would be without the battery tray back there. I haven't even leaned it out very much yet. Definitely brought a smile to my face.

    RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-

I bought my Firestorm in April. I bought it used online. The guy said it wouldn't run and I offered him $75 for it and he accepted my offer. I took it home and found that the clutch spring was broken and I found a small crack in the engine block. I got the aluminum 3 shoe clutch for the Savage and slapped it on and I JB Welded the crack. It's ran AWESOME with even a cracked engine until yesterday. The JB Weld broke loose. I put more on it and just set it up in case I ever need a engine quick. I put a new G3.0 engine on it yesterday but have yet to break it in. I'm going to do the Heat Cycle Method break in on it tomorrow. I've heard good things and it makes sense. I also got a Spektrum DX2S transmitter and receiver for it. I plan on building a Savage SS in January, so I figured I'd use the same radio for it. I love the Spektrum transmitter. If anybody is looking to upgrade, I highly recommend it. The Firestorm is my first HPI. I must say, it's the best $75 I've ever spent.

I think real soon here I will be getting rid of the modified 3.3 storm. Not sure if it will be reverted back to stock form or just let it go as is. It has been used more for street than dirt and don't want to wind up spending all the money to do the same thing that has already been done with the other storm. It is too fast for dirt with that motor and since there isn't a whole lot of dirt street it is.

For some reason, I keep breaking the brake disk. Well, not keep breaking, but I've broken 2 of them. Does anybody know of an upgraded metal one or maybe one for a different cat that will fit on the Firestorm?

I have got the Carbon fibre one from New Era and the metal hub carrier but have not tested it but it is way stronger than the standard one. I wore the original one out after about 3 tanks then drove it for around a year without brakes had the same problem. Here is a pic. It seems that it won't stay straight so you get a brake that is not smooth it will bite hard then softens on every rotation of the pad but it will be more durable than the original I think.

The carbon fibre brakes work real good. I have a vented carbon fibre setup for a jato on the original plastic hub. They didn't make one for the firestorm when I built my truck. It has been on the truck and working flawless for a couple years now stopping my truck from 60 to 70mph all day every time I drive. I have had to replace the plastic hub one time because it got hot and melted right off once though so the metal hub might not be a bad investment.

I had the hot racing arms on mine very good metal strong. The rear ones would rub on the rear axles dremmelled the rear arm a bit. I was going to use the O.S fs26 but I can't get it geared high enough for the speed I want. I might try a light weight high power .12 engine. Get some pics up JUBE would like ti see it.
