I got the same arms too. They are nice but the dremmel work that needs to be done kind of makes you angry.

Yeh me too I just got the drive shaft upgrade I don't know if they work without the dremmel work but really you should not have to do it. I've got the integy ones all round this time however the integy parts I have to say front ones will need some filing or sanding very tight. and there is quite a few burrs here and there but look nice. The bearings don't fit great either be wairy of that guys. The Edit parts however are excellent the bearings fall in and have no play. The carbon chassis and front shock tower not great one of the holes are not lined up right on the shock tower and the chassis hole for the Gearbox abit more play than the original. But it is good enough. around 35% lighter than the steel one.

Here are a few pics of my new (old) Firestorm. Bought this on ebay but it hadn't been run so was like new. Ran it in properly, tuned it a bit and now it goes like stink, I love it!

Also pimped it a little with a nice custom carbon spoiler. I think it looks ace!

Lewis - that is a fantastic looking rear spoiler. Great job. Can I assume that you laid your own fibre over a mold for that?

Love that spoiler looks AWESOME!!!!. I like seeing cars that are in good condition clean and standard just looks great with a few tweaks like the spoiler. I'd love a set of HPI shocks but they are pricey over here in UK £60 front £60 Rear But i'm thinking about it. Not inpressed with the Integy ones I got way too stiff think the standard plastic ones feel better quality. HPI stuff maybe pricey but it is high quality.

Cheers guys! I thought the spoiler looked cool too I have a confession, its not real carbon, just a wrap, but it's very good quality and i've gotten fairly good at applying the wrap so it looks professional and very real. All in all a cheap but cool mod. I could get a real one made as I am good mates with a guy who own's a carbon fibre company, however, it would probably be expensive to mould then fairly pricey to actually buy the moulded products.

lewis y have the same arms and the axle touch with the arm to hot racing was wrong of that i have fear to pass the dremell jajajai dont use the fire since the change.

If I were you guys I would send the arms back complaining as I used mine and ruined the axles it is crazy that they still sell them get integy ones. they are much better I ground mine down but they still kind of rubbed a bit and wore the axles down and the drive shafts. wont do the bearings much good either. I ended up just putting standard shocks back on my truck they worked great before.

OK I quickly put this together I have still to put more screws in and have not yet decided what wheels to go with deep dish or dished wheels. The integy shocks don't fit right as the top eye hole and fitting they give have to big a hole and the bolt is loose inside but they are pretty good also the bottom eye hole fitting is tighter than I'd like but I think I will try and work through it. I don't like the orange springs I think I will remove the paint and paint them black anyway here's the video still got lots to do but it's starting to look like a car now. Got new bevel gears and output shafts new bearings everywhere. Oh and the Edit steering nuckels rub against the wheels had to take them off very dissapointed heard lots of people had the same problem will get a set of integy or J-tec ones.

Hi, i face a problem and i wondered if someone could help me.

I have a nitro firestorm (the new one with 2.4Ghz) and after the break in period i
started to progressively pushing the throttle more than the 1/2 (as Hpi
recommends).

At this point i noticed that with the needles on the default i had a
temperature off 90-100 Celcius on the glow plug (measuring with a temp
gauge for rc) although i didn't passed the 3/4 of the throttle.

In order not to damage the engine i richen the HSN 1/8 and continue the
progressively opening of the throttle until after 8-10 tanks i also
richen the HSN another 1/4 in order to run in full throttle and keep the
temp at max 110 C.
So, my question is why the engine has this behaviour?
Normally after the break in period the HSN should be very rich for
normal running and it would need leaning not richening....

Is this a common behaviour or the engine has a problem? I also thought if it is a carburator problem.

Do you guys had any similar experience?

I forgot to tell you that during the brake in i used Rapicon 16% (9 oil) and after 1 litre i changed to Byron 16 % (12 oil) beacausei thought that maybe the low percentage of oil could be the reason.

Your nitro content is a bit low but it shouldn't be the problem.  Tuning by temperature isn't the best way to do things.  What altitude are you at, is humidity high and what is the outside temperature?  I recommend tuning based on performance and how it sounds (and possibly by the smoke trail).  If there is a problem outside of the conditions I would guess its an air leak but that is not common.  Does it sound like its lean when you run it richer or are you just basing this on temperatures?

i don't think it is the conditions because it has the same behaviour on any temp and place (from 10 to 20C - of course i always richen it when it is cold).

Actually as you said i allways tune it according both the temp and the sound and revs of the engine, but as you also said when i try to lean it it sound like the mixture is too poor (now it is about 1 turn unscrewed from flush on 10C).

Another thing that is weird is that after the break in when i opened the engine (i used to do it in all my engines) to see how it is i saw a few filings on it. Is this normal? Because in two previous engines i had (kyosho) i never saw something like this.

Be carefull on 16% nitro. I ran my Hyper 12 mini st on that and the temp went upto 265F. It sounded perfect had to make it really rich to bring it down to 225F. Ran 20% Byron had no problems 225F tuned it to sound ran very stable. Check your plugs OK. My Firestorm always ran a bit rich at the low end never tuned in great through the entire band. I would use 20% and 12%oil what was wrong with the inside of it I would check of a leak around the head.

There can be shavings in an engine after a break in, its hard to say if what you observed was a problem.  I've seen some very fine shavings in the past. Definitely inspect everything inside carefully.
