RCN2ZST, we heard you the first 10 times you bashed this truck.
Hmmm, you seem to be the only one who does that.

Somehow, most people have a different opinion. It is quite durable for a Stadium Truck.
Its not a Monster Truck and you shouldn't expect it to behave like one.

This G 3.0 engine is very easy to keep in tune and it has plenty of power.
The tuning problem is the one holding the screwdriver my friend.

Takes skill to handle a 2wd They all will break if you abuse them, it don't matter how cheap or expensive your parts are. The Firestorm is a fine truck.

    NTRC,
I have the same problem and have been dealing with it so far. Have you tried leaning out the low speed needle like experimental pilot said? Does this work? I have tried the idle speed needle and I have not had succes. When I turn the needle to the right, the truck doesn't let off the throttle and when I turn it to the left it doesn't make that much of a difference and the wheels just keep spinning even though the trim is neutral. I turned the needle three full turns each way. I guess tomorrow I will try leaning out the LSN.

because i have a week or so until my new arms arrive, does anyone think it is possible to epoxy the broken pieces back together and then try to use it gently? I was really lookin forward to getting a lot of use out of this thing before school starts up again...

    firestormanation,
I just started to lean out the high speed, and then my a arm broke....at that point the brakes still killed the engine, so no results yet. If it does work, ill tell ya, otherwise, i would just try to tune the thing.

Hey, I should have told you this before. Do you have a soldering gun? You can "weld" the parts back together.
It actually works pretty good! I wouldn't glue them, that would break apart really easy, but when you "plastic weld" them with a solder, there's a good physical bond.
I have a welded knuckle-arm on my firestorm now

dont have one...but i bet i can find one at a friends house. Would i just melt the two parts with the tip of the soldering gun and then stick em together? If its easy and it works, i might just have to ask around...

    RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-

Just melt both parts slightly where you intend to join them.
    Stick them together.
Then weld around the seam, spreading the plastic across the crack to join the part.

    Almost like new

This may ruin the soldering tip, so you may want an extra tip.

i think you should invest in a failsafe...25-30 dollars could save you a lot more and the frustration of a glitch in the radio

    [link]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXEYG2&P=ML[/link]

if you use alkalines for the receiver ...this is perfect, and it will run on about any battery type..(except maybe lipo, but not many people use that)

I also recommend the ofna micro failsafe, because there is little room inside the reciever box,and the micro failsafe is one of the smallest failsafes there is.I have it and it saved my firestorm a couple times.
After I got my failsafe I would never drive my firestorm whithout it.
has anybody tried "O.S.18 TZ" on firestorm ????
I am planning on getting one for my birthday!(October)

Has anyone found any bodies that will fit a firestorm? Was also wondering where to find hop-ups.

who would ever buy a firestorm. Their crap o the track and on road. The only decent stadium truck that is good on the track and on raod is the team associated gt2
    (and possibly the jato2.5)

The firestorm is a well rounded truck. No, it is not designed with the serious racer in mind but more a entry level nitro. I think people should choose their comparisons more carefully.

I also broke a few a-arms and I am wishing the same thing. If you don't want to go stock again, try the New Era alloy a-arms.I know you might be thinking alloy is bad, but I would think that the alloy a-arms would take more force to bend than for the stock ones to break.
