DO NOT TIGHTEN THE SCREWS THE ENTIRE WAY!!! They should give a little. If you do, you may have to keep replacing servos. Here is the servo you should get for steering, about the same price as the one listed. [link=http://DO NOT TIGHTEN THE SCREWS THE ENTIRE WAY!!! They should give a little. Here is a photo of the rear axle and how it has scuffed the arm, if you look at your plastic arms, you will notice that part is cut away for the axle to pass, surely hot racing noticed that?!

They're probably either forgot to program the CNC for that recess or the machine isn't able to do it. I have the same problem with the parts I'm making. But for what you paid for those arms, you got a pretty decent deal. They could use a 5-axis CNC and machine all the little clearances while they're cutting the part, such as for the axles, but they'd have to charge obscenely high prices to cover production costs. A few passes with a dremel is a small price to pay, really.
I had the same problem with these arms. All I did was cutout the brace that was rubbing, no problems since.

Why did you guys get alum. rear arms? From the looks of things the rear arms & shock towers should never break & the front arms should just break once in a blue moon.

If you have a metal gear servo, you wouldn't need a servo saver.

I broke both my front and rear (I broke the rear by sliding into a curb with the brakes on, I overshot and tried to brake in time, I also thought that by turning the car, the damage would be less, but it still managed to snap the arm. Plus, it would look a bit weird with silver front arms and black plastic rear ones, like a blue car with a green door panel

Please help!!! My rear right arm keeps coming out of the suspension shaft . I replaced the arm and shaft , and and suspension set . I had two mild landings and the same thing happened . I'm considering glueing the shaft into the suspension set. I hope some one has had this problem and can give me a true fix .

you mean where the suspension shaft screws into the arm? no not sure at all why that should come out. is it the screw loosening? or is the arm snapping where the suspension shaft screws in?

No I'm talking about the suspension shaft on the frame . It doesn't look like it is cracked . and the shaft is still in the part that you change the rear end tow .

Well shoot me there is only one screw. You told him not to buy a new servo (HPI junk one isn't a metal gear servo, therefor he should not fully tighten)

I only said to tighten the servo saver and then locktite it.I never told him to tighten it all the way,but I said he can tighten it all the way if he gets a new metal gear servo.

A new high torque servo might not fix the problem,it hasn't for me.The problem was the servo saver.Aparantly the bolt worked its way loose, which causes the servo saver to "over save".I'd recommend you to tighten the bolt as tight as you can and then locktite it.This problem will continue to happen if you don't locktite the servo saver bolt.
Well it seems to me that you did.

I got the Hitec 645 servo and I bought some threadlocker. I plan to install the stuff wednesday (when it's supposed to get here) and tighten the servo saver about 3/4 way and use some thread locker. I probably won't even get to use my car until like two more weeks[] because wednesday I will install it all and thursday I leave like after my soccer practice to catch my flight for spring break. So it is sort of bitter sweet because I won't be able to drive my upgraded Firestorm in which I would have 2 new things: Moabs which I would finally get to install because my other wheels were back ordered and I ordered 2 more so it can be 4 and the other new thing is of course the servo. But I will be in Florida yay.....

i know someone who just recently broke a front arm, front bulkhead, rear arm, the rear arm pin holder, spur gear and popped the exhaust off all in 1 crash, it was amazing. i was thinking about buying a Firestorm also but this kinda turned me off of them because he has to wait 2 weeks for those parts.

Ill be buying my firestorm really soon.. I have few questions though..

-While breaking-in the engine do you have to let the engine rest after each tank of gas?

-How long does it take to finish 1 full tank of gas during break-in?

-What parts can you install to the stock firestorm engine to get more power? Is changing the stock carburator an option?

Thanks in advance!
