Just replaced my stock shock springs. It's like night and day now. Used HPI NO. 6794 springs. They are for the RS4MT. Yellow/soft. 13x70x1.1mm 15 coil. They are a little longer than stock which work perfect on the rear. They work fine on the front also. What a difference in handling.

Ohh, so I let my little nephew drive it after i made him vid. cam my new bashing spot "10 feet of air on these jumps, will post vid soon" and he decided to bring it on road and cream it into a kurb.
Nothing really happend except I now no longer have a spoiler.
Not sure If I like it this way but whatever.

nice, so does someone want to tell the dumb kid over here "me" how to tighten the servo saver.
nice, so does someone want to tell the dumb kid over here "me" how to tighten the servo saver.
I didn't take any pic's while doing it, but maybe these help.
No idea if i'm doing it the quickest/best way, but it worked for me
I removed all the bolts marked red:
Once removed i was then able to slide out the front end (hope RCU don't mind me using their pics from their review)
Basically what your looking to do is tighten up the nut highlighted in blue.
Be careful when you pull out the front end, that you don't lose the little black spacer located in the location i've marked in red.
Hope that helps.

hmmm. that was a good way to explain it
I am hoping there is a different way. one of the bottom screws are stripped and I don't want to take it out if i dont have to

You don't have to take out the bottom screws. Take out all the top screws that hold the top plate down. also take out the screws holding the servo to the top plate. Pull out the receiver box.Lift the top plate off and move it to the side. Pull up the steering links being careful to not lose the small spacers on the pins. The nut you want to tighten up is on the passenger side link on the bottom. It's really not that hard just take your time.

Oh my god! wish i had just waited before tightening up the servo saver coz i did it a MUCH harder way ( and yes all those wee spacers fell out and it took me ages to figure out which ones went in wich side !!)
Took her out yesterday and steering was much improved (doughnuts left and right now) Thanks
still really bad on grass though but new servos in the future . Bit nervouse bout taking the linkage off though , not to confident bout setting it up again.
Also discovered that plumbers ptfe tape i had lying in the van is an ideal quick fix for a leaking shock
gonna buy some sort of sticky padding to cut and fix to the under side of the chassis as the bolts under there are taking a pounding and might not fit the allen key soon, is there anything like that on the market?
Ran my Firestorm
Broke my Firestorm
Fixed my Firestorm
Love my Firestorm

To be honest even with the new stronger servo's and RX hump pack the turning circle still isn't very good.
I can just about turn my car around on my fairly narrow street.
But then if you had much more of a tighter turning circle the car would be very hard to control at speed, i've now learnt to just drive around the poor turning circle.
Depending on the situation i use either the throttle or brake, the car then turns around in just a little over the cars length.
If you use your brake then basically your doing a hand brake turn, so it'll 180 very sharply.
But i did have to upgrade my T&B servo to get to the point of being able to lock up the rear wheels, with the stock servo it was very hit and miss.

This Is just some extra info on the servo saver. After you tighten it up, it will loosen up again and again. you'll notice that with your wheels turned, you can turn them back by hand without the servo moving. That means you need to tighten it up. What I did was put some Loc-Tite(threadlocker) on the threads and thighten it to where you want it. My is pretty tight about 3 threads showing underneath the nut. just wanted to inform everyone who is dealing with steering problems. just so you are not having to take top plate off 2 or 3 or 4 times to re-tighten it up..
Oh yea! I love my Firestorm. I have a new tuned pipe, 21 clutch bell, and Spektrum rx and transmitter. I also put some chrome rims on it.. ITS HAS CRAZY TOURQE!

you need the 3 shoe flywheel. but the difference is phenominal. with the 21 tooth on, mine will flip backwards on grass, the stall point is perfect for the .18 engine

People are desperate for parts for the Firestorm. Look how much this bulkhead is going for on ebay. Yikes!!!!
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-HPI-Racing-F...QQcmdZViewItem
$14 worth of parts sold for $45 freaking dollars. This make me want to sell my bulk head and just wait till June.
