those engines generally run on less nitromethane, and more oil. You'll have a nightmare trying to tune it to that... supposedly. And then again, the blends are supposedly completely different because one is brewed for car and one for planes/choppers.

Though it may be a pain in the ***** to get fuel, I wouldn't use heli fuel. It wasn't made for R/C cars. Kemo is right, there is more oil in the heli fuel and would be almost impossible to tune.

RE: jato 3.3 fuel can i use heli ???
well i talk to a couple people
Monday ill give Morgans fuel a call.
so fare other than the heli is 30% instead of 20%
and oil is 1% higher theirs exactly the same all oils are the same.
plane fuel is different the oil is much higher but helis and cars are
pretty much the same.
even know theirs a 1 % deferents in oil the 10% nitro makes up.
so ill let you know what Morgan fuel Says on Monday.
u must buy syn heli fuel for it to work tho.

hey
i talk to Morgans fuels today
heli fuel is ok to use at your own risk but is not recommended.
heli fuel has more power than car fuel and the syn oil is
a different mix.
i don't want 20% id like to go with more like 30% what is a good car fuel.
im the dude that buying a 280mph turbine jet this year for speed so
i want all the power i can get.

RE: jato 3.3 fuel can i use heli ???
Car fuel, heli fuel, plane fuel are ALL made up of the same 3 basic ingredients. Nitromethane, methanol and oil.
The 1 big difference is usually the oil content/type.
Most of your car fuels run 8-12% oil and in my experience it is usually a castor/synthetic mix.
Airplane fuels usually run 17-25% oil and it is usually a castor synthetic mix.
Heli fuel when used in a ringed glow engine is 100% synthetic and ranges from 17% up. If non ringed it can be a castor/sythetic blend. This is also applicable to airplane engines.
If you look at the Thunder Tiger EK4. It is a ringed glow engine and calls for 100% synthetic heli fuel.
......with that said,I have been running "Airplane fuel" in my ground based RC's for YEARS..... NEVER an issue. If I was given a gallon of full synthetic heli fuel, I would add a little castor and run it!!!

RE: jato 3.3 fuel can i use heli ???
I ran Morgans Omega for YEARS in my cars. I ran the 25% nitro which has 17% oil that is a castor/synthetic blend.
Here is what "I" would do.. I would add 3 ounces of castor. If the beginning oil content was 17% that will bring you up to 19% total oil content. Thats a TON of oil but its what "I" would do. I just prefer to have some castor in the fuel. Thats just my preference.
I usually run fuel that ranges from 12 to 17% oil.
Don't take my info as gospel.... Im just an old Rcer who likes more oil than most. :-)

RE: jato 3.3 fuel can i use heli ???
Nitro RC.com has a fuel blending calculator.
NitroRC.com Custom Fuel Blend Recipe:
According to the figures you just gave us, your current fuel has, 15% nitro content and 17% oil content, leaving 68% methanol.
You have indicated that you wish to increase your nitro content by 10% to a new total percentage of 25% and your oil by -2% to a new total of 15%
In order to accomplish this you will simply need to add 17.1 ounces of nitro and 0 ounces of castor/synthetic oil to your 128 ounces of fuel.
When you're done, you should end up with 145.1 ounces (1.13 gallons) of newly blended, custom fuel.
Custom Blend Results
Starting Nitro: 15% Add oz Nitro 17.1 Ending Nitro: 25%
Starting Oil: 17% Add oz Oil: 0 Ending Oil: 15%
Starting Mthnl:
68% - - - - - - - -
Ending Mthnl: 60%
You can buy quarts of nitromethane from www.s-whobby.com/
Call and ask for Stan. He will work with you.

I highly doubt its the fuel causing your tuning issues. Might want to check for other issues 1st before blaming the fuel.
I have never had any issues running Omega fuel.
