Default question about GT2 and engine install step

Hey all,

I am putting the finishing touches on my new RC10GT2 FT kit, and all i have to do is shorten the crankshaft on my O.S. TZ 3-port Turbo with Standard Shaft. The first Q i have is, where are you supposed to cut the shaft? The new manual says nothing about this, so I busted out my FT GT1 manual and it says "cut at the cut-off nut". I have no idea where this nut is and I want to finish this darn kit already, and I don;t even know if it still applies to this kit.

The second question I have is, do I need to use the shim between the flywheel/collet and the engine, or just stick the collet on and tighten the nut down(either the nut included with the engine or the illusive cutoff nut) . Again, it only references SG shaft engines (of which none I wanted have rotary carbs).

I almost just eyeballed it today. I had decided to use no shim, just the collet and flywheel then tighten the "cutoff" nut down(while using a crankshaft locking tool) then saw it off flush with the clutch shoe pins. Would that be right? Or did my instincts kick in and give me cold feet?

I'm actually not a noob so I can't believe I haven't figured this one out, but I figure I would ask the audience so I don't mess up my new engine and have to tear it down and install a new crankshaft.

Thanks!

You have to buy the cut off nut seperately.
