What do I need ?
I want to start raacing my gt2rs at the local track and I want to know what servos, radio gear, tires, hop-up parts, etc. are recomended. Right now, I'm planning on getting a spektrum dx2.0 and pro-line bow tie tires to start. Also, should I put pin tires on all four wheels or should I put pins on just the rears and ribbed tires on the front? thanks =)

I wouldn't change anything until I got to race a few times at the local track and see what the guys are using that are eating you alive. Most guys will tell you what they use because its the spirit of the sport. Its fun to go neck and neck to see if you can beat a guy with your skills and not the model. If you don't have a lot experience and you have the best set up you could have for the track your not going to do well. When you can take the model you have now the way it is and go out and just be a little behind you will be ready for all the right equipment[:-]

RE: What do I need ?
learn to drive good and stop hitting the pipes, then worry about upgrades...you'll want your car to act a certain way, so once you figure that out go buy hop-up parts...
In answer to your question...these are my opinions only...
ribs on the front (pro-line edge or similar, get a name brand though)
bow ties on the back
your spektrum radio will be perfect
as for servos, I think this is what I will be getting: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...2&I=LXUZ80&P=K
Other hop-ups (also just my opinions)
carbon fiber/graphite front and rear shock tower
MIP cvd's
MIP 4 n' 1 clutch or a 4 shoe clutch (tell me if you were able to find a 4 shoe one please!!!)
www.jdcarbon.com for carbon fiber parts (lifetime warranty)
and mabye RPM arms, the won't break (lifetime warranty), but some people camplain they flex
aluminum or RPM rear chassis brace and or bulkheads
