.12 motor will start when I pour gas into carb, but not on it's own
Any suggestions?
The second I dump gas directly into the carb, it fires right up.
I've taken the hi/lo nozzel out and blown on it to make sure nothing is jammed in there. I did have another motor on there so I know that the gas tank isn't clogged or anything.
I'm seriously puzzled.

Excellent suggestion. But after replacing the lines I'm still not firing without dumping straight to the carb.
I blow on the line that goes into the exhaust (I have a xxx-nt) and watch the gas go to the carb. It is pretty difficult though. It gets there but I do have to blow hard. Should it be pretty hard or does that gas want to flow real easy?
Any help would be great. I'm about to get a new carb, but this just seems such an EASY fix!!!!

check the o-ring in your gas cap. dirt can get in ther and wear it out, resulting in an air leak. also make sure your carb is not leaking. air leaks are killers

well it would turn into a starting issue where its not getting hot enough to burn the fuel that comes in through the fuel lines but when theres alot of fuel getting dumped in it will burn it....... it was just a suggestion

Right....like I said, I can get the motor started and it fires right up when I dump directly to the carb. It stays running for maybe 2 seconds then dies as it ISN'T getting fuel.
I appreciate all the effort guys. I did have my old engine running with this gas tank though. So I know the gas tank is ok. Man...I am just flustered on this one.
Any more help or suggestions? I'll try anything.

It is more than likely an air leak in the fuel system. As already suggested, the O-Ring on the fuel tank lid can go bad. It can also be a front engine bearing leak, or loose screws on the backplate. If the engine is leaking from any of these two areas, it won't have the "suction" to draw in fuel.

Put your finger over the exhaust stinger and prime the carb by pulling on the pull start if you don't see gas going to the carb you have A air leak.... If you see gas going there and it flows into the carb as in you can see gas in it then you should run fine.... But if it goes up to the carb but you cant see it in there then you have either A blockage in the carb hsn, or The needle itself might be turned all the way lean? I know you insisted on the gas tank is fine but if you already replaced the lines the gas tank is the last link in the puzzle. Also you may try installing if possible your old carb from the other engine on to this one, that's A big maybe but it could alleviate this problem. GL

my friend boat does this all the time
we unplug the line that goes to the carb, and the one on the muffler.
blow into the one on the muffler and gas will go up the carbs which you now just connect it back, it takes little effort, we barely have to blow hard it more like a whistle lol...
try that, thats what we do, but, hope this helps and you fix ure problem!

i dont know the name of that golden thing in english but maybe yours clogged, i had the same problem about 3weeks ago. Take it out and clean it with f.ex. gas, then try to blow through it, if the air is going through you will be fine.
