You cant beat the Jato in speed period! Handling goes to the mt2 because of 4wd. In stock form the Jato does not do that good off road but with different tires like Yokohamas or moabs it does great. Both are pretty strong but I would recommend rpm a arms for either. Both are great trucks but if you plan on more off road than on road the mt2 is great. I love my Jato and its set up for off road. Now if it was 4wd it would be perfect.

I buy off road just for that off road so I feel the MT is a much better choice. It handles so much better and will go places a 2 wheel drive only wishes it could. Yes out of the box the Jato is faster but I much prefer handling to speed. Here is my MT 1 ¾ with the OS 18 TZ in it goes as faster then I need.

REMEMBER, Speed is nothing without handling!!

Go for the mt2 which give you much better handling and so much durable in the stock form from both trucks. Later on if you're itcy for some serious speed, slap in a OS18TZ and you'll be very HAPPY!!

If you put speed before anything, then you can go for the Jato, just be sure to up-grade some parts on the front portion before bashing. Especially the front shock tower which break so easily.

I would recommend the MT2, there is a big learning curve driving a 2wd car, specially the Jato, to much power to be control with only 2wd.
If your going off road, it will be had to control the Jato with all that power.

I Have an Mt2 hand made it 2wd for fun to see what it was like, it was impossible to control, from a full throttle it would fishtail and spin out of control.
But I'm sure with some practice I would of been able to handle it.

Went back to 4wd, much more fun and easier to control on dirt, or anywhere else.
