Default rustler 2.5 issues I needs help!

The rustlers 2.5 carb is set at factory settings and we just replaced the piston/sleeve because it wouldnt start after he apparantly hit over 350*.
so... new piston sleeve and factory set carb and we still have a problem. now its starting but when we give it any throttle at all it dies instantly. also there is fuel lightly misting from the carb intake when we take the air filter off. The plug is definatly getting red hot and it seems to be flooding itself. we have leaned the low and the high speed needles to no avail. I have broke in 3 trx engines with no problems in the past. The fuel lines are air tight and as far as we can tell the rest of the engine is not leaking either. It primes instantly. He brought this over and we cant get it going! It is really frustrating me. Anything helps.

it sounds as if your engine is real rich try leaning out the top end by 1/8 of a turn until it stops dieing(i pretty sure i have spelt that wrong)at full throttle!

i hope this helps!

How long are you letting it idle before your giving it gas?

its just something with new engines you may not necasarily have to lean it out
you could do what i did and keep the ez start button pressed after the engine is started the pull the throttle 1/4 for two seconds then take ez start off then continue the break in of the new piston and sleeve

its pretty instant the engine dies i dont have time for quarter throttle. I have held the ez start on for like 2 minutes and it still dies and kills the glow fire. the engine stays at idle for around 2 minutes or at least untill it gets warm enough to attempt throttleing it.

Put it back at factory settings and start with only tuning the HSN. Don't touch the low. One needle at a time. You only need to tune the LSN after break in when you tune for performance.

well dude heat it up w/ a hair dryer its just becuase the sleeve and piston is new.
the pinch is really tight like on my 3.3
but don't forget w/ a new piston and sleeve you must re do break=in
